LS1, LS2, and now an LS3!!!
Oh YEAH.
Now that's what I'm talking about. Thanks for the pix.
The guys on the V forum have been complaining about how similar the GXP and the V wheels are. The V wheels have a "V" shape and yes, they are wider in the rear, so GXP owners have been making the market for 2009 V wheels VERY tight. You guys are making it harder for me to buy my winter wheels. STOP IT!
I didn't like the interior that much, it was OK but just too Spartan for someone coming from an Acura. That's one of the many reasons I stepped up to the V. In addition, i wanted a built-in navi, which is not offered on the G8. I guess they don't use sat-nav much in OZ?
All the same, you won't care much about a navi when you punch the accelerator.
But you might need to locate a bathroom to remove the poop from your pants the first time you take it WOT after break-in....

So, yeah, I hear the deal with the interior. But, as sparse as it is, it is actually very nice. Heated seats, bluetooth, and the materials seem to be pretty high quality.
So, the Holden Commodore in OZ has all of the options- NAV, you name it. Unfortunately, the Nav didn't make it to the US because the angle of the information screen doesn't meet US requirements because of a couple of degrees and a cm or two. Pretty lame. Of course GM didn't want to spend millions retooling the center console. I would of liked it but I can pick up a nice 4.3" for $250 instead of paying the obligatory $2k that manufactures are still charging.

This week I am getting Tint, ordering a Roto-fab CAI, and installing a 35w 5000k hid kit. After that, I'm probably done.
This is by far one of my favorite cars. I would love to have one, but since I don’t have a freakin job I can’t get jack. If I had my old job I would more than likely have on in my garage.
One question though and it may sound like a dumb one. What happens when Pontiac goes out of business? What happens to warranty on the car?

The Tremec tr6060 in the G8 feels a hell of a lot better than the T56 in the GTO. The throws are much shorter and crisper. The ride in the G8 seems smoother with about the same body roll.
The car seems pretty stealth but the engine gurgles on idle and sounds awesome
Nothing like a V-8! I like the style better than the GTO but I also needed 4 doors. The backseat is huge!
I think this will be a fun car! I'm keeping the tach below 3K for the first 500 miles.

Nice car
You can always get some Holden Commodore front/rear and bring the car's styling back to where it began. I really like the car, but that front end looks right out of the plastic Pontiacs of the 90s.
Here's the original Aussie : http://www.nextcar.com.au/rt.i.holde...ep.r.00.60.JPG

Get one while you can! From what I understand, every GXP has already made it to US shores and the manuals are selling out fast! If you want an auto, you will have better luck. I'm not sure if this is true, but from what I heard there are only 1828 GXP's built. Thats the official unofficial number that people are quoting on G8board.
lol... I just got the windows tinted. I'll take the plate off and see if there are any big holes or anything. Also, I'm going to debadge the dealers stickers but I'm not sure how to go about doing this as I've never debadged before. Any advice?
For debaging the dealer stickers use a hair dryer (carefully) on a hot day, heat it up and slide some dental floss to get it started. After removal, you can use a detailer clay bar to clean up the residue.
about the dealer debadge, I went to my Acura dealer and asked them if they could take it off and they did.
Great car!!! Love it!
Congrats!
Don't forget to take it in for the recent recalls:

Congrats!Don't forget to take it in for the recent recalls:
Adding a bit of insult to injury, Pontiac and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration have announced the recall of 35,038 G8 sedans for two separate issues. General Motors announced earlier this year that the Pontiac brand would be killed by 2010, with the G8 set to ride off into the sunset by the end of the year.
According to the NHTSA’s Web site, the Pontiac G8 is being recalled for a brake light issue and a potential problem with the vehicle’s tire pressure monitoring system. The recalls cover all G8s from the 2008 and 2009 model years.
Some G8 vehicles may have been equipped with an incorrectly programmed brake pedal position switch from the factory. The defect can lead to the continual illumination of the car’s brake lights, giving other drivers on the road little warning when the vehicle is coming to a stop. Due to the increased risk of crash, Pontiac dealers will begin fixing the problem June 5th.
The G8’s second recall involves the vehicle’s tire pressure monitoring system. Some vehicles were equipped with the wrong programming, which could give false tire pressure readings. As a result, the system may not warn the driver when tire pressures fall below safe levels, potentially leading to deteriorated handling or even a crash.

Great choice of color as well...There is nothing that can replace a 6MT paired with a 6.2L V8 and a RWD propulsion! Enjoy her in the best of health!

The GXP is a very nice sedan indeed.

to that.
