Looking for opinions

I know you guys may be a little biased, but I though I would ask on this board too ( already posted on the CL board)

I am on the prowl for a new car. This time, however, I am definately buying within the month. The lease on the old Audi is just about up.

Here are the cars I am considering. I am torn between wanting a little convertible to zip around in vs the entry level luxury cars with all the bells and whistles.

Acura TL
Mercedes C320 Sport sedan
BMW 330CI
G35C

And the roadsters are the Boxter S or the BMW Z4. I considered a used 911, but figured that might be more problems than it's worth. Trying to keep things below 40K too, and only 99-00 911's seem to fall in that category.

Going to drive most of the cars tomorrow. Will be making a decision by the end of Feb. (just trying to get a jump on things)

Also, if you have any suggestions, I'm open to them.

Right now, it is between the TL, the C320, and the Z4.

If you are considering the 330i sedan, you should probably wait until April 05 when the 2006 debuts (unless you get a great deal on the 05).

Coupes and Sedans are so different, you should probably decide which first. If its a sedan, TL is a very big contender. But if you want a coupe, there are many other choices.

Good luck!

Wow...that's kind of a huge difference...I think you need to figure out first what you want the car for and then narrow down your choices. It should make your decision process easier.

As for a roadster, have you considered the Z?? As for the 911, I'll just say that they're not cheap to maintain (this according to Porsche owning colleagues and family).

I'm sort of in your category: I own a 2000 Nissan Quest (family car - pd for ) and will be buying out the lease on my 02 Maxima in June. Thus, I'm exploring the possibility of either getting a roadster as a 3rd car OR getting something like a Murano SE or RX330 to augment my minivan (given its 100k+ and that it's used for daily commuting and road trips). Right now, I'm pretty much in the exploration stage and wont make any moves until this upcoming Fall.

If you want MT, I'd go with the TL. Otherwise, I'd go with the new RL A-Spec.

Bmw 330 Vert. Porsche is gonna cost you on maintnence, and the Z4 isn't my taste. To small and love it/hate it styling.

What about a used M3 convertable? YOu could get one in the low 40s for a 3 year old one.

First you still gotta decide if you want a sports car or a luxury sedan then go from there. I say sports car though, as you have the Murano if you need to get around when weathers bad.

but the new 3 series comes out later, so if you're thinking about now and you're interested in a TL, go TL. Depends on what you want. The TL is a lot bigger than a 3 Series.

TL= Torque steer crazy, great technology, good looks
G35C= Crazy fast, crappy interior
330i= Best in class, outdated and high-cost
c320= worst excuse for a 6MT ever, but carries the silver arrow with it.
