Longterm Car Storage?
Other than covering the car, using fuel Sta-Bil, and putting fresh oil in... what else should I do?
Long term storage will be at least a year.
Thanks guys.
Oh forgot... yes, I'm raising the car on jack stands...

The best thing to do would be to let me drive it until you get back...
seriously though...you can do the following as well
- use up as much fuel as possible...you'll need fresh fuel when you get it ready to go again
- disconnect & remove battery...place it on the floor on a rubber mat or piece of wood
- put a very light coat of wax over the entire car...rims too
- pull plugs and squirt a little oil on the cylinder heads
I was in the USAF for a 28 years and stored a few cars in my days...these tips always worked well for me

I have a buddy who just went to Korea. He put his truck in an indoor facility in Atlanta where they come out and start your vehicle a couple times a month. The best part about the whole thing is that the military pays for it.
Something you should look into.

close the vents on the inside of the car and get a new air freshner.
condition the leather before you go and depending on the climate, maybe get some of those silica gel packs to absorb moisture

You never jacked your car up on stands at all?
Pulling plugs on this car is a PITA, but I'll do it to prevent everything from sticking....

I've not had any problems with leaving a tank empty...I don't think rust will be much of an issue since gasoline tends to leave an oily film anyways
I didn't jack them up all the way...I just aired the tires up to recommended cold pressure and then jacked up the car with a floor jack and then set 2x4s' under the jack points just enough to keep the weight off the tires to prevent flat spotting and to prevent the shocks and springs from sitting there the whole time fully extended
Pulling the plugs is a pain but its something I've always done and found my engine having to problems cranking up...in one instance after almost 18 months
One more thing...I used to bag the tires with large trash bags...keeps ozone from damaging the surfaces.
