i believe the current record on the ring is 7min 22sec, which means 7min 24sec is not even close to the record. the record lap was done by a modified e46 m3, which is currently up for auction and was in an earlier thread.

The Lexus is stock, but a test car, that's the difference. There are cars out there faster than the M3 also.

Also do NOT count out driver. The Green Hell isn't a 3 mile 13 turn Herman Tilke track that a good driver can learn in 10 laps, it is a lifetime track and only a handful of drivers are able to get a car to 99% of its potential. Plus in the Eiffel mountains the weather changes rapidly and rarely will conditions be the same on one side as the other. Further I put VERY little stock in any time produced by the marque itself, I doubt a single one of them is a true showroom stock vehicle with rubber you get from Tire Rack even if the sidewall has all the standard markings.

I personally just take a glance at the numbers from the 'ring and generally group cars within 10 seconds of each other due to the many variables. I would prefer same day same driver with cars bought directly from the dealership however that is unlikely PLUS most of the ringmeisters have bias due to affiliation (ie Hans & Walter).

I don't like how that air duct by the rear windows looks. They should have kept the ones from the concept.
