^ where was the REQUIREMENT? I think its policy but not law. Plus, you'd never expect that to be a cop car.

If I recall correctly, South Carolina has/had an E34 M5 in their fleet that was a gift from BMW when they opened the new assembly plant in Spartanburg.

yea it's all up to the higher ups in the force and legislation.

I remember some time back the CHP were considering going with volvo's for their cruisers. I even saw a test vehicle on the road once.

But later I heard the CHP commisioner opted to can that idea and stick with american cars because he felt that they needed to portray the american image more.

Ford does own Volvo right?

I would think that is a demo car, or special service ie-Dare or other program car.
Can anyone confirm if that's actually in use as a patrol car?

I'm sorry but I am against any f*cking cops that gets a stealth/sleeper/unmarked cop car. It's sole purpose is to f*ck with civilians with nothing better to do than sitting in speed traps and give out tickets.
A pigs job is to have a regular cop car and track down criminals on the unwanted list, help answer domestic voilence calls, roadside assistance, etc., NOT getting those cars for pleasure reasons. Look at that PIG in the picture, if I were there, I would tell him "I bet you can't afford that car, dream on donut"

Did I forget to mention I don't like cops? I have absolutely no respect for any of them.

You sound like someone that has issues getting pulled over for his loud system/dark tints/slammed 22 chromies on his TL/ and then blames the cops for picking on him constantly.

What makes you such an expert in police work all of a sudden that you know exactly what they should be doing?

The reason more and more cops are driving cars like these is because of kids like you who watch "Fast and Furious" on a daily basis. They know when you roll up to his legacy on the highway you will get your vin diesl persona going and wanna run him. I bet the cop would even let you give him 3 honks.

Stupid.

Then act like it. There are divisions made solely for traffic violations, and others made solely for other investigations. If you really worked for DoD, then that would've been a common fact.

Cops get hated on just because they're doing their job, no lie.

btw in nyc after some women were pulled over and raped by people posing as police in fake unmarked cars, i believe they made it a policy where you can not get pulled over by undercover police for traffic violations and stuff...

i believe if they were to try to pull you over you were told to just slow down and wait until a real cruiser arrived or call the police for verification...

Sev, beware because that is definetly not true in this area. There is a black Nissan Maxima that I have seen frequently over the past two weeks on 93, 128, and Route 3 on my way out to my friends house in Chelmsford.

I was SHOCKED one day when I went by and saw him pull over a red Mustang. My friends have seen it recently too.

Only if you've seen what I've seen with these pigs, you would think differently. Investigation department are detectives, I was once a state trooper in delaware. (2001~2003) There are reasons why I got out.. anyway. Don't wnat to make this a big issue about cops. The vehicle is nice, but I just don't agree them getting those vehicles to give out tickets. If it's a D.A.R.E. vehicle to show off to kids, then ok. But com'on, be an unmarked car to give out tickets..........

see i feel they should be allowed to have unmarked cars, but that should be when trying to bust drug dealers, street racing, sting operations etc...

it really is a annoying move to use them for moving violations... speeding, blowing a red light, etc...

street racers, sting operations and bust drug dealers I agree they can have them. But com'on, if you're a 9-5er and is going 70 on 55 trying to get home and make dinner or passing some slow driver in fast lane... I think it's ridiculous.

I was once a state cop, and the mentality some of the cops have (least in delaware) is insane. I've sat in speed traps before, I've written tickets to folks who drove recklessly. But what I've seen in 3 years was enough for me to hate and got out. The comments I made in my first post was harsh but it came from personal experience. It just makes me laugh some members just jump on it like I'm some 17 yr old who hates cops because I drive fast.
Anway... enough of this topic.

That car is in this state? Holy crap that's gay!
I've seen alot of undercover cop cars pulling people over. Impala, Yukon, Camaro etc, but Subaru? Damm. That's not a D.A.R.E. car at all.

Vehicle will be on Display Friday May 26th at Peninsula Subaru in BremertonWA for a Press Event at 2PM

After the event, the vehicle will be patrolling the highways of the Kitsap Peninsula in WA.

It was built to get more tickets. So retarded.

I feel some ambivalence towards the police mainly because I am a habitual speeder...which is not the cops' fault. As a whole, law enforcement is in integral component of civilized society.

It's a current body style... looks like an '05. It has tints and everything!! You would never suspect that its a cop car.

I believe that this car is an expansion of an existing program that is in place in Washington targeting wreckless drivers and excessive speeders. I have a friend who works for the State Patrol and he said that wreckless driving is at an all time high in Washington. He was telling me that there are already quite a few Volvo V70's and S60's on the road in King and Pierce county.

we don't have anything that crazy around here.
it seems like it's all Ohio State Patrol has Crown Vics.
townships and town cops have a lot Impalas.(a few still have Crown Vics but they're are either converting to Impalas)
Sheriffs we have a mix between one county has a crap load Intepid 3.5s(but I heard they're getting ready to order Chargers with Hemis), and one county has Crown Vics.
only thing we have that's kind of crazy is in SHelby county we got a Honda Odyseey as a DARE van.

i agree that there are way too many wreckless drivers in WA. i speed sometimes but im not cutting people off or going below the speed limit on the left lane etc like a lot of people here do
