Just a little something over the weekend.
My first track day was a outdoor karting day, hehe.
Started the day off by taking a 1 hr 30 min drive to Willow Springs Int. Raceway...
then waiting about an hour for the rest of the people to arrive...
lol
but all in all. it was a fun event since I just wanted to beat my lap times I've made over each sessions I got. ( 1:10 --> 1:05 --> 1:03 --> 1:01 ) The guy that works there does a 0:55 in the same kart....
Didn't make it to the final "Grand Prix" race...
haha
But I did take pictures of random people during that race.. just a few.. don't wanna go through all the other 300 something pictures

^ The guy in the blue suit had the fastest time out of everyone that day.. 0:57!!

annd..
bunch of random people's GoPro videos.

That is awesome! I race indoor karts here in Charlotte and it is a blast. Been looking at some of the outdoor places as well. Will likely give one a try. I've been keeping my eye on the new track in Mooresville... but till likely head down to Carolina Motorsports Park before then to give it a shot.
Looked like fun... glad you enjoyed it!

i say everyone should try it out. Definitely a different experience from indoor.
they also had karts with paddle shifters but we didn't get a chance to use them...

haha. i'd say i'm pretty average.. the "Virgin" group they had were doing 1:10+
the guys that did laps under 1:00 were like.. i assume 160-210 lbs. i'm 240lbs.
...... i say weight is really a big factor since all the karts have the same motor.but the last kart i used had a tighter seat so that helped me a lot.

I'd say weight is a pretty big factor. I'm about 250 and I could feel my weight pushing the kart outside. Very irritating.
How much do these karts weigh, and what kind of power do they make?

Weight is a huge factor. At our track they have a lightweight and heavyweight division for that reason. In the novice class, there is no split... so the lighter guys have a small advantage (not as much as outdoor since the indoor tracks are much tighter).
But typically the lighter guys have the advantage in the straights and exiting the turns (acceleration) and the heavier guys have an advantage entering and through the turns.

^ I'm thinking Willow Springs' website may be a good start...

^ Probably one of the worst websites I have ever seen... but it makes mention of kart rentals:
