I purchased my A7 with around 149,000 miles and the ZF8 is an incredible transmission. No signs of giving up / shifts are quick for being a standard auto.

Have you looked how much a transmission fluid kit goes for?

Vorsteiner gets my vote as well for #1 but the BBS look good. My dad has them on his Audi.

I've planned for all of this over the last yr or so but I still hate seeing the numbers. Still have the Acura mindset I guess

HRE are fantastic wheels. The P101s fit the style I'm going for but they dont have anything like that at the FlowForm pricing

Yeah, I'll likely need new wheels for the Rotus, so it's been in the back of my mind. Luckily, 15s are a fair bit cheaper.

I'm a bit late, but congratulations on the new vehicle! Super nice photos with that prime lens.

I vote for the BBS wheels

Little 3 Month Update

- Car is running great! Absolutely love the combo of speed/comfort. The ZF8 transmission is phenomenal. I dont really have the opportunity to drive different cars so I can only compare it to the two TL's I've owned (2000/2007) and its obviously a different world

- Cosmetically nothing has been added since the last update but Im sure I'll find something to add while scrolling the interwebs at the wee hours of the night

- I still plan on buying wheels, but they are on backorder for what seems forever, so I'll put those off till next year as they're going to be a summer setup anyway. Maybe if I get lucky around black friday I can order them and store them for a couple months

- With the wheels on hold, I went an upgraded the two underseat subwoofers with a setup from Bavsound. They seem to be big players in the BMW world and it was a great plug n play install. Probably 30-45mins for the whole swap

- Thats it for now. I know not much but maybe I'll have more to add around the holidays. Lets see how long I can hold off before going stage 2 tune

Before and after pics. And yes I did vacuum once it was all done lol

BavSound is pretty much the go-to for plug-and-play audio upgrades in BMWs. Well done.

I didn't want to put a box in the trunk like I had with the Type S. This was a good middle ground

Probably wouldn't have worked anyways. BMW electronics aren't very compatible with mainstream products. My wife wanted to buy me a remote starter but was told it's impossible and confirmed by my BMW mechanic friend as well.

my 650 goes in storage by mid-November. I'm debating whether to keep it or not after my 911 arrives. I love the car more than any I've ever owned. It's great looking, comfortable and fast plus it accommodates me and the Mrs. quite well for extended getaways.

Keep it. The 6 is more grand tourer than the 911 will ever be.

all the newer BMWs have remote start and compatibility much better than the last Gen's product

Now you will soon have a 911, i think you need a X5M to tow the 911 and all the tools and tires to the track.

What's the rest of your stable look like?
650GC + 911 seems like a nice combo.

This will be leaving the stable after 17 years next Saturday when my nephew picks it up. Bought it on eBay from a dealer in Scranton, PA.

Also driving a black 2018 Grand Touring CX-9 (winter ride) and a manual 2011 335i xDrive sedan

If the 650 is strictly your summer car and you have no desire to drive it in the winter then I'd move it on ASAP while the market is still super hot. If you want to daily it year round then definitely keep both.

I'm not worried about what I might miss if I don't move on the 650. I never buy cars as an investment but rather a losing proposition.

I'm excited for it but at the same time I don't want to chase a HP number. It's a dangerous game and more about bragging rights than anything else. The only dyno I plan on using is my butt

As for the exhaust I always keep an eye on the bmw forum marketplace. If something I like pops up at the right price I'll jump on it but I'm in no rush

Yah usable power is better than 1000000 hp that you will never be able to actually put it on the road.

Long overdue update. Downpipes + tune have been on the car for a couple months now, I just never got around to taking any videos. Big shoutout to Zaks Auto in Hudson NH for the install and tune help.

Initial reaction. I love the downpipes. It opened up the exhaust/turbos so much to the point where I dont think I'll get an exhaust. As for the tune.... holy butt dyno is this thing fast. The upfront torque is intoxicating and on the highway it just keeps pulling up top. I'd say 90% of the time I'm just cruising, but when/if I need it, the power is definitely there.

Quick video of the downpipes. In order - Cold Start - Quick Garage Pull - Revs - Revs again but closer lol. All of this was done on my phone and on 1st takes. Please ignore the giant golf club cover in the first part. I was using my bag to hold the phone and I went to the garage so I wouldn't upset the neighbors.

That cold start sounds a lot like my M5 with the Competition exhaust.

I found them over on M3 section of Bimmerpost. The company is Richland Forged

They basically take BMW OEM wheels and make them in different finishes and sizes

I looked a lot at buying a set of M5 mufflers from members who were upgrading their exhaust, but the downpipes made more sense when factoring in the tune

Both dp and mufflers might be overkill for me personally. We'll see
