I've moved to the dark side..

For those of you that don't know me, my name is Vik... after driving my CLS for 2 years...I've decided to move on...Not to something newer...but to something I've wanted for a really long time.

Anyways, I went to New York to go get it. Let me start off by saying a member on here "Shoofin" guy by the name of Eddie, helped me out a great deal and is a stand up guy. He was kind enough to come by and pick up all of us at the airport and take us to the dealer where we were to purchase the car. I really owe him one, and if any of you need to purchase a car, he is a great auto broker, I wouldn't hesitate to give him business in the future and look forward to doing so. Thanks again Eddie!

Ok now on with the pics...

And here's Eddie's car for kicks :

It's a 1999 BMW 540i, 1 owner, all services performed at the BMW dealership.

Yes yes, I know what you're thinking "holy shit he just bought an older BMW its going to cost him out the ass in repairs!" The ENTIRE cooling system has been changed, control arms changed, O2 sensors replaced, new brakes and rotors, and new tires...Hopefully it won't need too much more over the course of the year...and if it does, oh well, big whoop.

Oh btw sorry for the shitty blackberry pics...

I only plan on driving it for a year...so hopefully I'll enjoy it! It's been fun being on here guys, I'll be back to visit I'm sure.

Very nice! I've always like the 540i's.

Ed is a good guy... glad he took care of you.

Oh and don't worry, you will be back. Very few leave for good... plus, most people in Car Talk no longer own Acura's anyway!!

Very nice! Good news on the control arms, cooling sys., and O2 sensor replacements, those are known problem areas.

Looks like the problem areas have been addressed. Enjoy the crazy V8 balls!!!

The sound of that engine is

Is it a true sport package or just the wheels?

Congrats!

hah yes, so glad I won't (hopefully) have to deal with those problem areas that the previous owner already dealt with.

Yea, it is a true sport package, see the blacked out window trim?

Ohh sorry, its the 5AT tiptronic...hah still plenty of fun

Nice pick up. Didn't know the 540's didn't have the shadowline trim in '99. You should pick up the later model trim as your first mod. Seriously one of the best sounding engines ive heard.

It does have the shadowline trim otherwise it would have chrome lining around the windows... Or did you just type that incorrectly?

Mod bug has already bitten...'03 tailights on the way along with M5 lip spoiler. M5 bumper in a few months and thats all I'm doing...

I love the sport seats in those things....some of the most supportive seats in a sports sedan.

And such a nice headrest

haha but seriously, BMW's are all high maintenance cars, but the M5's are in a whole different league by themselves...

I bought a 540i knowing the issues to expect and people who buy M5's hopefully know what they're getting into maintenance wise...(amazing cars nonetheless)
