Is350

Per my other thread, one of the cars I have been looking at is the IS350...

Well, my local lexus dealer called me. He told me he is willing to sell me the RX330 at 40,516 (his invoice for that car... I havn't verified this). At the same time he will sell me the IS350 - he can't get the colors I want, granite mica, pearl, or blue onyx. I wanted the black interior. He can only get me the red with the gray interior. He is taking $1,000 off sticker. Do I take it or not?

So, you're buying two cars??? Or do you mean, he will buy the RX330 from you?

$1k off MSRP, on color combonations you don't want doesn't seem like a good deal when your purchasing 2 vehicles to me.

It's tied to buying both. I am not completely against red with the gray, I have just always prefered blue/grey colors.

We got a brand new RX330 w/Nav AWD for I wanna say somewhere between $39,200 to $39,700. Certainly less than $40K.

Was it only the nav or did it have all the other options also? I know lexus will give a base RX330 with onlynav, but without the other options.

You're bringing the salesguy a two for one opportunity here so he should work to get you the color you want and still provide the discount. Otherwise, I would expect a much larger discount.

I had put down a deposit for blk/blk w/ all the options and it didn't show. They tried to sell me different models w/o the options I wanted, and wanted me to pay over invoice. I obviously got my money back...

That being said, you can get the RX for at most $300 over invoice for any model you want, so $1k under MSRP for a car you don't want is a rip-off. I was gonna get an RX to go with the IS as well, but now I have a G35 and am just keeping my Sequoia...

Premium package, with nav, wheel locks, mats, guards, trunk tray, fully loaded basically.

Sticker was about $45,700 or so if I remember.

$1000.00 off a IS350 right now is not a bad deal. Personally I would wait until next year when invoice + $500.00-$1000.00 should be available. Also, I tend to avoid first year production runs, my 2001 CL-S being a exception.

Thanks guys, I will wait a while to get it. This will give me extra time to be absolutely sure I want the IS350. Somebody in the other thread told me to look at the S4 and 330i and it seems like a great car also.

Just to let you know, Audi wants absolutely ASININE prices for the S4 right now. I went into the dealership, spoke to someone, and they told me that with $2k down the S4 loaded is about $900 per month. I laughed in the salesman's face and told them to point me to the Land Rover dealership to buy a Range for that price. They have to be out of their minds. That car is worth no more than $750 a month, tops. Hopefully you'll get a good dealer, or at least you'll stay away from mine.

With that being said, they did have an '05.5 in blue with black, 6MT, with every option that they were trying to pull out of the dealership. Maybe they wanted like $800 a month for that, assholes.

Lease? Finance? You didn't specify, I assume lease though. But at any rate, I would be looking at buying a CPO S4 maybe a year old or so.

Sorry about that. Yeah, 36 month lease. The price is still ridiculous either way. They told me I'm better off financing, but I personally think financing a car sucks.

last thing you want to do is look back at your purchases and regret not getting what you wanted.

Why do you think it sucks?

But yes, that is kind of an expensive lease.

Not that is matters, but are these cars that you are selling and buying belong to your parents?

My mom would like the red IS350. But i wouldnt want her in a fast rwd car.

Ouch, hopes hes ok!

Anyways back on topic, I dont think red is all that great on the lexus. Wait for somthing you really like.

Have you tried other dealers? Or call your lexus dealer back and tell them what color you want. Im sure they can try to trade somewhere.

Not a fan.

Black or white looks great on the IS. Even the gray or blue...

IMO

Yeah, I've got a red CLS, but I don't like the red on an IS... Black or Blue looks good IMHO...

I only seen 2 IS's so far on the road a Blue one and a Red one... (both driving by old people - 50 plus)...

I have had such bad luck with the grey, silver, blue, etc that I kind of want a change. But I am not sure about the red. I think I will go see it in person and decide.

Hope not, but I will find out soon. My insurance will go up $960 a year with the IS, so I plan on insuring me on the RX and putting my mom on the IS. Then ins only goes up about 300 a year.

20 I would be able to handle that big jump in insurance anywyas (hell I am paying for fawking 45k cars), but, I can save that much by switching who is insured on what, not a bad deal.

I would suggest to hold out... unless you like the car. Afterall, you will be stuck with it for a while, it makes no sense to be stuck with something you dont like.

I have been looking at the IS too, along with the TL as a replacement for my MB. I am frustrated by Lexus' lack of cars that i want on the build sheet (i want Smoky Graphite Mica with Cashmere interior and Lux package (17s) plus Mark Levinson, non-nav).

I KNOW that i can get a TL with ipod integration and Nav for less money, but i heart and my head are telling me two things, so i am sitting on my MB for now until i can make up my mind.

Bud, going schizo over cars.

I went and drove the IS350 again today (drove it when it first came out). I am kind of let down by the quality of the materials. At 45k sticker price, I would have expected softer leather and not so much cheap plastic. Although, I did like the red, it looked nice on the car.
