last year i remember i was at the race track and i saw sick RX7 that ran low 8's similar launch but... let's watch this video again...

thats neck snaping acceleration for sure

I'm betting it's in the mid 9's, low 9's at best. It's certainly not faster than SW's car or the cars built by BoostLogic & Titan.

It seemed faster than the comparison video of the SW Supra.

It'll have an amazing 0-60ft but SW's old Supra is a record holder for 6-speeds. If this car went faster, someone would have blabbed by this point about it being a sub 8 second Supra.

Same reasoning. He probably either street races or does untimed events. Letting everyone know that he has an 8 second car is going to make a lot of guys turn down racing him. Its how he makes money.

That's my bet at the very best. The only thing impressive about this video is the insane launch, that's it & tbh, it looked sloppy for a car that people think is in the 7-8 second range, no offense. Watch any other 7-8 second car launch & it's much more controlled & planted, like SW's old car or this one.

I'll be down there at TX2K12, so if this mysterious Supra shows up, we'll see how fast it really is & what kind of power it makes.

I think that was definitely faster than 9 seconds dude. This is probably exactly why he won't release the times; leads to lots of speculation...

A little searching I found this about the car... presumable it's the same car. The vid on the first page I posted says Jimmy's supra, while the vid below the driver says his name is David.

2jz supra stroker with 80trim turbo and nitrous to spool it. Shadyside Dragstrip, NC

Supra on Passtime back in 2009 at NC dragstrip. He definitely didn't launch it on the show, but their saying back then it was only an 800+ hp car.

Thats an automatic. I believe the Supra in the OPs video is a manual. And, I know this isnt much to go on since he couldve moved, but the OPs car has SC plates. That car doesnt.

Also, that was filmed in Atlanta, not NC.
