If Money Were No Object...
...what older/classic car would you love to own?
I have a few on my list but lately, I've been smitten by Duesenbergs. I'd LOOOVE to own a Duesenberg SJ like the one seen below but sadly, I doubt I'll ever see one, let alone own one. My friend has a huge soft spot for the 1938 Packard Super Eight and I can totally see where he's coming from but my God....look at this!

+1 on the Duesenberg SJ and F40, those cars are beautiful!
My list could go on and on, but these are just a few.
'65 Lincoln Continental 4-door convertible
Aston Martin DB5 ( original James Bond car in Goldfinger)
Mercedes-Benz 300SL
BMW M1
Porsche 356 Speedster
Not sure if its considered a "classic", but a McLaren F1 no doubt.

It all comes back to one car: the McLaren F1. I've wanted one since I was in middle school, when I first read about it. The unique seating configuration, the technology in the car and the all-around amazing performance for a street car just appeals to me. Mid-engined, naturally aspirated V12, RWD with a 6-speed manual.... LOVE IT. It has a surprising amount of practicality too - as practical as you can get with a hypercar like it. The epitome of it's time.
I would pay money just to see and sit in one in person. I still haven't seen one yet Just to see how far my desire for one goes - Mr. Bean was one of my favorite shows growing up and still is.... but when I found out that Rowan Atkinson wrecked his, I liked him a lot less. I have matured since then and forgiven him, but still.
If I were to ever be truly jealous of a car owner, it would be the Sultan of Brunei. He had something like 8 McLarens at one point of time (retail of about $1 million USD each back in the late 90's). Seriously dude.... you don't need that many. Donate me one

But lose the vinyl and give me the rally wheels.

I must say, I did see a 69 RS/SS in Hugger Orange with the black hockey stripes and hood louvers and it broke everyone's necks at the gas station it was at. Rally wheels. Houndstooth interior as well. Certainly got my attention, hearing a car louder than mine pulling up behind me. Paint looked better than my car's, even.
As far as actual classics go I'd like a 240Z. It's not exactly cost no object but I'd like one like this:
or a resto mod like this Cobra, sans that hood though edit: holy ginormous pic double edit: fail. i'll just link it.

Anyway, I'd be hard pressed to choose between a Hudson Hornet, Olds 442, Datsun 240Z, Mercedes 300SL and an E30 BMW.

Yeah, i realize its not a "classic" cause its technically a 2011, but its powered by an air cooled 993 engine and "features modern amenities such as a lightweight electric air conditioning system, Garmin Navigation system, ipod interface and even Bluetooth connectivity are also available in the Singer 911"
In my eyes, perfection.

If I could I'd also want:
Toyota 2000GT
Honda S500
Austin Healey 3000
Lotus 7
Shelby Cobra
For muscle cars:
olds 442
challenger
probably more I can't think of
