Sooooooooo.....about to do some things. The '55 doesn't get much love these days; mainly cause it just isn't the way I want it. The chassis setup has been shit for some time. I've been good friends with the guys over at art Morrison chassis for a decade or so and they've been bugging me to upgrade. So the '55 is gonna go under the knife here in a bit and get a new chassis underneath. I'll also end up raising the rear floor so I can put it on the ground.
Will sit like this guy lower
Ironically I've been following that suburban for about 20 years. The owner found me on IG this weekend to tell me 20 years ago he totally copied my chop 😂
So, new chassis, naturally means it's time for a proper motor. Right now I'm debating between a blown LS3 or saying fuck it and go LSA. I want to be able to hit the throttle and blow the tires loose at any time....
that leaves a healthy 406" and 700r4 that'd drop nicely into the impala. At the same time, I may sell it. But will wait till the '55 is done.
Talking with the morrison guys this week, to lay out plans and get some build times situated.

I say rebuild as long as the integrity of the engine wasn't compromised from the vehicle they pulled it from.
I'd look for donor Camaros with smashed rear quarters.
LS are so stout and easy to work on. Plus so many performance shops that only work on the LS.
And parts are so cheap. You can easily rebuild a pulled engine and make it much more stout for much less than a crate.
Or just say eff it. Pipe a turbo on a stock pulled engine, tune it, and it'll still probably be problem free for less than 8k.

yea, was wild, was one MASSIVE party. It's also amazing how this community gets along and spreads love. You walk into a crowd and you've got the people most would turn around and walk away from. You've got guys with full gang face and head tattoo's sitting and talking to my kids, giving them high 5's, etc. It's a blast.

most 57 bel airs came with the 250 or 283 2 bbl, and they made 180K 2 door sports coupes (A total of 720K in 1957 between 2 post, wagon, sports coupe, etc). I wouldn't exactly give then heritage to a corvette (to which they made 6,300 in 1957)
But, everything i own pisses some people off, and i'm kind of fine with that
