I think i'm selling the boxster
I have had the car for over a year now and i enjoy driving it. But, the wife and i are planning on buying another house in a couple years and selling this would really help to accomplish this. It is a hard, well, not too hard of a decision to make. I think the next porsche that i get will be later on down the road and will be a newer 911 coupe.
Besides saving that money for a house i really can't think of a great reason to keep it...

you are right about that. i am getting a little annoyed at the convertible part of it. I like the coupe better, but that will come later in life. The good thing is, the car really didn't depreciate since i bought it.

What is the resale of the boxster? How much would you benefit from selling and that, and then picking something else up? Unless you have a DD and the boxster is your "pleasure vehicle?" In the grand scheme of things, would selling the car make a HUGE impact? If not, then don't sell or you'll regret it. Instead, think of better ways to save money and cut costs to make the dream home a reality.

I like the car but am not really attached to it.

If you can get what you paid for it, sell it.
You'll get something nicer down the road. It's not a very rare car, you'll always be able to find a similar one.
I wish I never sold my 1993 BMW e30 convertible. There's one I'll probably never find again

Sounds like you are getting bored with it. May as well dump it then regardless of the housing plans.

Dump it and put it towards the new house.

If the magic is no longer there, then sell it. If little things like washing and maintaining it are now nothing more than a chore, then it's time to let someone else enjoy it. It sounds like you really want a coupe, so aim for that down the road.

Too bad you're selling. Still like it, though! Good luck selling it.

as mentioned, if you could get what you paid for it after a year of ownership then sell it...regardless of the situation...consider yourself lucky to be graced with a free porsche for a year before it starts becoming a problem.

i told the wifey about it and she said if you sell it, that's the last one you get for a long time.
Another thought is, i can sell it in a couple years and still not lose much money on it, so it won't depreciate much. So in 5 years if i need to sell it, i can sell it for 12-13k. if i don't sell it no big deal.

lol thanks all, The next house will have 3+ car garage. If it doesn't the place will have enough land to build an additional one. I had fun with it while i had it, but i would rather put it towards the next house.
