I saw the 2005 RL on the ROAD!
OK, before you guys tell me im wrong listen up.
Im one of those people that can see a car zip by and can tell you the make model and approx year.
With that said, i was driving home from work yesterday. When all of a sudden, i look left, towards oncoming traffic, and i swear to god, i saw the new 2005 RL. It was black with a chrome grill. It was not a TSX or a TL, like i said, i can identify almost any car i see. I've studied pictures of the RL from past forums, so it clicked in my head when i saw it.
One more thing, i live in Northern virginia by tysons corner. For those of you whom never been here. Everyone is filthy rich (well not me), and everyone works for the government. So, i guess that helps me make sense of what i saw. Rich people can get anything they want.
Yes, even ricecakes

Nothing listed yet for the 05 RL on Acura.com, so I doubt you saw an 05 RL. However, maybe one of those government employees as part of their job tests and certifies new vehicles before manufacturers can sell them. Could this have been a test car?

Did it have a manufacturer's plate?
In my hometown, you get to see the latest prototypes from the Big 3 running around, because their headquarters are located there.
But when it comes to other brands, we're deprived of the chance. I expected people in California to see the RL prototype first, since Acura HQ is located in Torrance.
But either way, how did it look in real life?? We need info on the car, not on your vision.

If it WAS real it was probably a test model for a magazine or maybe doing durability tests.
Aren’t they supposed to be built in Japan though?
I doubt they would do testing here this soon.
OR on the bright side, this thing could be much closer to release date then we thought.

Ok, i would talk about how the car looked, but:
- it was dark
- the car was black
- it zipped by me going the opposite direction
- its hard to do a u-turn on a 2 lane, high traffic road, with barriers
Sorry guys.
oh yea, and when i said everyone works for the government
you people are taking it as if everyone walks around in camo.
Ill keep my eyes peals.

I think you may have hurt your credibility with this post.
So you saw a black car, at night, going the other direction (combined speed conservativly 80 miles an hour) for 1/5 of a second.
Not saying you are lying but you may have been mistaken.

when the magazines run tests, we will see if it is black in the mags. if so, than you are that much more correct. But I believe you, small marketing strategy to drive them, I remember seening the maybach in NYC while in traffic before they went on sale. really broke peoples necks.
