I suppose it doesn't appeal to everyone, but for me it's much more than just the car. It represents the time in the sixties when two industrialists went to war: Enzo Ferrari and Henry Ford II. Ford chose to enter European car racing to further promote their vehicles, and Henry Ford II, after an unsuccessful attempt to buy Ferrari in 1963, enlisted the help of a number of Ford engineers and drivers, Lee Iacocca, and a Texas chicken farmer named Carroll Shelby to dominate the European tracks. And they did. For a number of years, Ferrari's best could not catch the cars from the Ford racing stable, and this is the car that started it all.

I think the 40s were known more for their Le Mans victories, the Cobra Coupes also raced at such tracks as Goodwood, Nurburgring, and Reims.
I remember seeing old photographs of these cars when I was a kid and being completely mesmerized.

Someone around here has a Shelby Daytona replica and that thing makes my pants tight... I couldn't imagine a real one. Very hot.

You aren't just buying a car, you are buying a piece of history.

I love the following photographs. She's parked outside of the Plaza Hotel in New York. The bellmen and passerby alike pose and take photographs of her.

That is a work of art. Absolutely beautiful. I'd be scared to death if I drove it.
Hell, can you insure something like that? I know there is special insurance for real classics, but for 10 - 15 Million, I don't think it's insurable for road use.

God knows what I'd do with that kind of cash though.
