School does pay off! Enjoy the ride, I wouldn't do anything to it. Like mentioned before, it's perfect.

Well, if he were near me, he'd be posting about how some person gave him the as he drove by.

And who gives a f-ck about the stereo with the top down and the exhaust "wailing like a banshee"? Haha good one Daniel.

Thanks a lot Bob. Owning and driving a Porsche 911 was my lifelong dream but getting into a Ferrari is truly beyond my wildest dreams. There's only one other California on my island I know of and one at the dealership (baby blue FTL) while there's a gazillion 911s in my medical building's parking garage alone.

It really is nice and gratifying to have such a unique vehicle that truly is a piece of Italian art with everyday usability. To own one before my 40th birthday is icing on the cake as most Ferrari's I see driven around here are by Grampa and his trophy GF.

Makes all the studying, all-nighters, clipping coupons, and Top Ramen/microwave popcorn diets worth it in the end

TY and QFT. I don't want to deal with steep inclines or bottoming out when I'm charging the mountains around here.

Thanks brotha! Owning Ferrari is reaching the pinnacle of my automotive dreams and aspirations. Of course, there is the 458 spyder to aspire to I guess ROFL. Getting my name on the Ferrari ownership list means not having to wait 3 years to order a new one like a noob.

Everything time I see a California I think of a CTS-V Wagon walking it down the track... with even Rutledge driving.

Definitely a great looking car that will turn heads. Enjoy living the good life!

I'm VERY happy for you and your new purchase. Can you give us a review? Pros and cons of the car since you've had it in your possession? There can't be TOO many cons but I would be interested in hearing what you have to say

No cons yet except a little too much attention. Thank the Lord I didn't get red. I bought the California to drive her, not to keep her as a garage queen too afraid to devalue her with excessive mileage. Even driving the Cali everyday nets less than 4000 miles a year so no worries.

The most important value for me is an everyday supercar. I specifically did not get a LP560-4, a single clutch auto tranny R8 V10, or an F430 for these reasons. All 3 have either harsher rides or a more jerky tranny. The dual clutch transmission on the Cali is phenomenal and equal to or better than the PDK transmission of Porsche. Certainly more liveable than the GTR tranny and light years ahead of the single clutch trannys in the Gallardo and R8.

Haha, I can't wait to drive the Italia spyder. My boy's Bianco 458 has shipped from Maranello but awaits the long boat ride to port in NJ and even perhaps even longer transport to HAW.

I did not drive the auto R8 but IIRC the tranny is similar to the Gallardo which I spent about 45 minutes seat time including WOT. The GTR I spent about 15 minutes seat time including WOT. I've ridden passenger in my other boy's Challenge Stradale, teeth rattling experience to put it mildly. The fact that he can't even pull up into my crib's driveway without scratching the front is a huge negative IMHO.

First off, wow! congrats on the california, beautiful is the only word i can describe her!

Secondly, oh god. I'm probably the biggest GTR fanboy here, but if by some miracle I had the option for the class of cars such as the r8, lambo, and cali...The GTR wouldn't even be on that list. In terms of refinement, looks, etc, it doesn't mark up.

Youre blessed to have landed with a car like that though, its amazing!

I think once you get over this (if there's such a thing as getting tired of a ferrari) the 458 should do you nice or the mclaren from what I read that is

No he didn't mention it. I got the fancy leather pouch for the owner's manuals, the aluminum ferrari flashlight, the window sticker, that's about it. I hear even the flashlight is a collector's item haha.

Thanks for the kind words. I was alluding to the GTR in terms of the driving experience. I cross-shopped the GTR when I bought my 997S 4.5 years ago.

Ya always room for change but I think with the Cali I've finally achieved the balance between daily driver comfort and sporty edginess to placate me for the time being. Knowing my friend though, he'll prolly be tired of the 458 spyder in a couple years and guess who will be first in line?

Can you believe he paid $35K over MSRP for the 458 despite being a repeat customer and buying the Cali and LP540-4? Apparently this type of sh-t is not uncommon and there were actually some other yahoos willing to drop $30K+ to move up on the waiting list, just for the position in line

Oh well, one man's trash is another man's treasure and I'm way to cheap to pay that kind of premium.

Ya I'll work on it when the weather clears up. Those were just some crappy iphone pics BTW, maybe I'll have one of my boys with a nice camera and some actual photog skillz do a mini-shoot. I'll try and get some ocean in the background for you cats haha.
