Whew!

Back on topic, any idea of how long they are going to keep your car?
I think the tech will be taking it home and back for 3 to 4 days, he started yesterday. So far its been out of service for about 2 weeks now (since December 26th)

Did you consider taking it to a different dealer for a second opinion? Technicians are not all made the same. Example, my 02 Acura RL was having SRS light problems and the Acura dealer was replacing sensors and other SRS parts but not resetting the system correctly. Took it to a Honda master tech who works on my S2000 and he fixed it the first time. Light has been off for 6 months +.

In any case, hope you have the problem resolved ASAP.

You really seem to be a nice honest guy. I understand totally how you feel. Certainly you can understand that neither the dealer nor BMWNA can just take your word that the car is broken. Until and unless they find something everyone is stuck.

After they go through their steps they will make a decision. It is possible that they will do a goodwill replacement or offer you a great trade. In spite of our best efforts sometimes things don't work the way we planned. Continue to be patient but firm. If you have another way for them to find the problem please share. G/L

Gotta say, your dealer process is going better than many we read on this site. I'd at least appreciate the fact that they're at least trying to work with you It's looking optimistic.

^From my experience, some (not all, by no means) people tend to be a bit pompous on Mercedes and Bimmer forums. Nitpicking grammar? Blatantly insulting others? Bullying? Come on. I frequent MBWorld and christ...some people are just douches. Makes me appreciate the top-notch moderators we have here.

Agreed the grammar thing is a little over the top. There wasnt a need for that.

BMW forums arent too much different than here though. I kinda find it entertaining.

I didn't mean it like that , i was just pointing out , that they are not perfect like they used to be , i think i need new pads.I'm just saying if the steering locks up again and the brakes aren't at 100% stoping power, the risk off me hitting something or god forbid someone , becomes higher.

Smart man. You saved up for what you really wanted instead of settling for what in your mind would be 2nd best. Those f-cktards on the other forum are just hating that you're 21 and rocking an M3. You're tone is not even antagonistic in that thread and they jump all over you like bullies

I know after owning an M3, it's hard to drive it's younger siblings (325i, 328i, etc.), but I have to say, the 335i is a BEAST. That twin-turbo V6 engine is no joke. I've been in that car several times and I've come out of there with headaches because of the amount of times my head hit the head rest on acceleration. I LOVE the M3, but the moment I have enough money for the 335i, I'm getting it. Then hopefully, I'll start moving up the ranks...

Nah bro, the M3 is like my dream car! But I just don't want to jump from a TSX (4-cyclinder, 201HP) to an M3 (8-cyclinder, 414HP). I want to ease my way in.

I though he was cool too , but it just seems like he has it out for me , like im making up my story about the steering , i know he's never herd of it before, but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist and doesn't mean its not happening, if he was a OP to a thread like this , i would of never try to make it look as if he's making it up or being a troll.

Dave, don't worry about the "proper English trolls" over on the BMW forums. The thing is, you're getting your point across, and we're not stomping your guts. Does it make it a better read when the english is correct? Sure, but unless you slip into Ebonics or hick, you'll be just fine here.

Now, about the brakes, I'm not a BMW guy so I have to ask: Are they some type of high performance brake where they really need to be hot to be more effective? I have heard some of the carbon fiber / ceramic setups don't work well in a daily commute. Like I said, I don't know. Just wondering. Any BMW people on here have thoughts on that?

PCCBs are excellent for daily driving although they tend to be more "squeky" for lack of a better word by some users. No fade on the track and a shocking absence of brake dust.

+1 to the squeaky part. Tends to be the biggest gripe about them.

I agree, hes very laid back and hes taking all this well. He handles the attacks with stride, which is why i tried not to attack his character like some others have. Hes been honest with any questions hes asked so I dont think hes lying either.

From what I gather hes a good kid and means well. Although he just comes off as someone who panics easily and doesnt understand many aspects of the features of his own car.

There are few threads hes made thinking his car was broken when in fact its just a feature of the M3 that he didnt know about. Which is ok, not everyone reads the manual but to panic over it seems premature.

I sense this steering issue might be user error somehow after following his posts. I, as others, have tried asking questions about the whole situation to figure out if its something that he has been doing to cause it. Its strange that he has the two incident within a week apart yet the 3rd didnt come till 4 months later, of which he was driving on snow with summer tires on. I follow BMW for many of years to know if theres an issue it leaves a trail or at least pops up more often than 4 months apart. For this reason i think its user error.

There was no 2005 3.5 TL from Acura.

I didnt see it that way. Most of M3post members were standing behind you and was hoping that BMW does it right thing by buying back your car. There is lots of great advice in that thread.
