I hate my M3!!!!!

I'm with you. If I had a choice, I wouldn't take the car back. The M3 is one of my favorite cars so I'd give it another chance (with another new one). Good luck with this!
BTW - If the M3 doesn't work out, my vote goes to the CTS-V...what a bad ass!

You should take your car to a BMW certified specialist shop and get their diagnoses on it, that might help with your apparent lemon case. Also, why the couldn't the dealer pull up the error codes? Seems shady to me.

If it was a temporary electrical malfunction, would that be recorded by the car's computer? What if the blip was brief and all the electronics returned to normal, like a short power outage type deal?

Yep, the snow can do funny things with the car. The ABS sensor probably tripped because of the suspension error and brake error. The car's sensors were telling it that the car was still moving in a straight line while you had the wheel turned and as well was continuing forward at a stead rate instead of slowing down and probably thought that one of the controllers were bad.
With the steering locking, does it lock into place where the wheel is not moving or does the steering wheel spin freely? Also is your M3 6MT? If yes, then it has a steering lock on it!

Damn.
What's nutty is that type of a failure doesn't trip a code or ten. My electrical problem turned out to be a poorly seated junction box which threw all sorts of codes, including the car's timing was off. So I would think that if your dashboard lit up like a Christmas, there would be some sort of trail.
Stick with your guns on this. I hope BMWNA takes care of you.

Dang bro. Sorry to hear that. As stated my a few earlier the M3 is a dream car. I hope they find the problem and fix it so that you won't waste your life dealing with this. Unfortunately BMW is not very forthcoming about issues with their vehicles. I hate to be the bearer of bad news but this is going to be an uphill battle.
Here's a plan. Tell the service writer that he can drive your car back and forth to work for a month and then take a picture of his facial expression. That will tell you that even he knows that this may be happening and that he wouldn't want to risk his life behind the wheel of your car.

Man if it wasn't for the fact that I drove one of these during an M event I would have just said to hell with the car but I instantly feel in love with it when behind the wheel.
I say try to work it out with them but if things really go sour, I would agree that the CTS-V might be a nice alternative.

That is one of the worst car stories i have ever heard. You spend that kind of money you expect things to work properly. Sorry to hear that!<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>
But as far as lawyer fees. You would sew bmw for time lost and things like that. Your lawyer will go into detail because this is how they make most of their money. Good luck with all of this!!<o:p></o:p>

M3 is a great car, I would lemon law it since M3's are pretty good vehicles in general and just get another M3. Looks like you just got unlucky.

Hope there's some sarcasm in here. The minute you take the douchebag route, good luck getting any leverage. Lawyer or not.
