Well since you're not actually purchasing a new car, I think your loan/payments will stay the same.

What do you think the dealer's gonna do with the old M3?

I have been following your story since day one. I'm glad you have your issues resolved, and I do think getting a new car is the best possible outcome in your scenario. Given their position, I think your dealer did the right things (although diagnosis should be done way sooner).

I hope you won't run into any problems with the new M3!

Most likely they would sell it as a CPO

The problem got fixed tho,and the new car is just compensation for all the time wasted with this car.I think BMW was very generous in this situation.

i would have def accepted the new car if they offered... but i would have doubts about taking my car back and drive it until the new one arrives...

if something happens to the car between now and then, like it gets totaled etc... i hope they don't put the blame on you to try and get out of the deal... just be careful and if possible, i would have told them to just keep the car and drive the loaner until the new car comes...

Drive the loaner buddy. Don't risk driving your old car you never know what might happen! Tell him you want to keep driving the loaner for safety reasons and that they are more than welcome to give the m3 as a loaner

yeah dude do not take back the old car. JUST incase they say well youve been driving your old M3 for 2 months now with no problem so we are not giving you a new car. Then youd be really screwed. Drive the loaner

The dealer sounds slippery dude, dont f*** all this up for 2 months with a loaner (maybe they can even get you a 7 series)...

Turn the page, walk away from the old car.

yea but what if some ass sideswipes u... then insurance pays to have the car fixed... and then when u try to trade in the car for the new car, they deny it cause now the car has been in an accident??? you don't want to put extra variables into the equation that are out of your control...

drive the loaner for the 2 months... and if something happens between now and the loaner, ok let insurance cover the loaner... but at least the dealer still has your car to swap for the new one they promised you...

How will driving the loaner make any difference? If you die then it won't matter what you're driving. Dead is dead.

Must've misread the posts. I thought people were skeptical about taking the M3 back because the steering might lock up again.

Well if you're taking it back while your new one arrives, I vote for a few track days before you turn it in

So with a new replacement car, are you going to have to repay sales tax, gas guzzler tax, registration, etc???

No, I wont have to pay anything , they said everything will just roll over to the new car. I basically drove this M3 for free in the 6 months I owned it.

I'd like to take the M3 as well but I would find out what, if anything, would happen if you got in an accident in the M3 vs. the loaner. As Crazy mentioned, get everything in writing!

I ordered the new color paint and the extended leather , which were going to run me $2000 , but the dealer said they are going to "absorb" it , meaning that I don't have to pay anything =D

clear pics with a camera with the date in the corner... 3 to 4 views per item... document it today. don't wait... the BMW peeps have been nice, but they may need the pics to move forward if they have to make a claim for the damages themselves... all IMVHO
