How did THIS happen?!?!

So I go with my buddy today to look at the Infinity G35s, he's in the market for one. So while he's out test driving, I saunter over to the Nissan dealership next door to look at 350 Zs.

Next thing I know, I'm test driving a silver 2005 Z Roadster 6MT down the road and it hits me... "I must have this car."

A couple hours later, I'm driving my shiny new kick-ass convertable home, and my buddy didn't buy @^$T.

Oh well, I miss my CLS already, hope she gets a good home... but when it gets warm, I'm sure the new Z will make up for her

Your story sounds very similar to mine... One day almost 2 years ago, I was left work early and on my commute home, decided to test drive the Z since a Nissan dealer was on my way home. I always loved the design of the Z and after the test drive, I had to have it.

The deal clincher was the excellent trade-in deal they gave me for my CLS.

Good luck and if you have any questions about the Z, I'd be glad to answer what I can.

Sometimes those spontaneous decisions are the way to go.

Congrats and best of luck with it.

I'll try, though I would smoke him.

Nice to know I'm not the only multi-thousand $$ impulse buyer here, I feel a little better.

Been out riding all evening, man I love the gearbox in this car! And I'm hating the "break in" period but trying to keep it down. A guy in a silver Z4 wanted to race me on 95 today, had to back off and that hurt bad....

I wish I had the $$ to keep my 03 CLS 6MT, but just couldn't do it. I miss the old girl as a daily driver...........

most likely you'll be paying around $38k for the roadster, if not more...before I bought the Cobra, I went and looked at them, but my dealer wouldn't budge off their sticker...I could've gotten a fully loaded coupe for $38k, but the roadsters were more like $41k...good luck and enjoy...also good to see im not the only impulse buyer too

Not a problem... I was quoted a price online from Passport of Alexandria (VA) on the exact car I wanted, 05 silver ZR, 17" wheels, 6MT, for $34,900, which was far better than anyone else's quote (and better than I expected!). That made me happy cuz they have a good rep in this area, unlike some other Nissan dealers.

Bottom line, they didn't budge from that price at all when I got there to deal, and to be honest, I didn't expect them too cuz that's a great price, well under the ~$39k sticker. What helped was the simple fact that it's Winter and it's a ragtop, plus it's the end of the month/year! The same car will be selling for near sticker come Spring I bet.

I was able to get them to give me a pretty good trade-in on my CLS 6MT, talked them up to over $22k and change, which I probably could have gotten a bit more on my own, but that was acceptable to me.

Hope that helped bro! Now I'm going riding since I got out of work early today!

I went to Passport Nissan, mainly because of the great online quote and the fact they have an Infinity dealership next door.

Wish I would have know your bud worked at Browns...

How many miles did you have on the CL when traded? I think my car is worth about 12k after all the miles in 2yrs.

She had right under 10k miles, so pretty low.

Advantage of taking the bus to work most mornings
