Hondata will be available for J Series

Yes Tony, they are planning to. However, several factors conspire to put the J-motors behind the K-series family.
First of all, the J-series engines are less well supported in the aftermarket. Thus, the need for additional tuning (especially custom user programmable) as provided by Hondata is less than that in the B or K market.
Second, the J-series engines generally come in a higher state of tune from the factory than the K or B. Sound strange? If you look at air/fuel mixture, smoothness of the torque curve, etc. you'll find that the J-series engines are already closer to an optimum tune while the K-series is run rich and retarded from the factory.
Finally, without DOHC VTEC, i-VTEC, etc. there are fewer areas to find gains, whatever the level of factory optimization.

yea but it'd be hard to believe that nothing could be done to optimize something......especially with the headers/intake

welp yea the unichip was a piggy back solution and hondata would be a reprogram.

like they said, the J series is already highly tuned. doubtful the gains will be much better than the unichip. we'll see though, i hope.

Even before that, TOV was still speculating about whether the RL would be AWD or RWD, and if AWD, they were expecting something like the MDX's system.

Any future releases from Hondata for the J-series motors? Specifically the J32A2 in the Type-S cars?
There's a little power to be made (5-10whp dyno proven w/UniChip) by leaning things out. Maybe more with timing advancements.
I'd appreciate any feedback.
Thanks,
~ Steve

No plans for the 3.2 CL. We cannot find a way to modify the ECU - although it does use a flash programmable chip.

Well Shawn definitely has a pulse on these things and is a smart guy, not like him to make this stuff up or be so completely wrong.

because they are getting affordable enough now that people who would like to buy one and flash the ECU could do so.
