Honda or Nissan?
straight up which do u like more? Our family owns a 2K4 Max and a CL-S, both of which we have problems. I like cars with tourque, and honda and tourque aren't really mentioned often together, but for some reason, i like Honda's, i also like Nissan, which do u prefer?

The only nissan I would even be interested in purchasing would be a 350z, nothing else really appeals 2 me and many of the other cars in the nissan line are plagued w/problems...the infinitis are nice, but i'd go w/the g35 coupe from there if I had 2 get something from infiniti, everything else is a bit blah
I'm awaiting 2 see how the new TL and Rl turns out...If the Rl looks as good as the Tl but is built in japan and truly challenges the e500s, 545s etc, there may be one in my family shortly after its arrival
Dont get me wrong, I like nissan, but cant stand some of their owners (not u zeroday lol :P )

I prefer Honda to Nissan.
My parents own a 2k3 Maxima, I have the 2k1 CL TypeS. Everything about the CLS is perfect. Among other things I've noticed in the two times I've been in the car, the Maxima's handling sucks, and it's just so much cheaper looking inside. Same goes for the G35s... I just.dont.like Nissan interiors. They're a totally different style and it's one that does not appeal to me at all.
I grew up in GM cars and Nissan is a step above them in interior quality and design, but Honda is easily two.
I recently test drove the 350Z, Evo, S2000, and RSX TypeS and b/w the 350Z and the S2000 it would be the s2000 all the way.
Of course the Evo is the car I'm sold on, so it doesn't really matter, but I'd take the s2k all day over a Z.

I love Nissan, the CL/TL and S2K are really the only Hondas I was interested in. I almost bought a 2003 6spd Maxima b4 I got my CL, I just liked the coupe look better. Now I'd say I'm both a Nissan and Honda fan.

I give respect to both manufacturers. Both have different philosphies on car performance. I hate hearing this company is better blah blah blah.
Nissan of USA loves bigger displacement motors and RWD vehicles. They believe that american car buyers still believe that bigger is better. For example the new G35....they took aim at the 3 series from BMW...and built a worthy car aimed at the American luxury car market...which is big engine, RWD or AWD, and handling.
Nissan of Japan is slightly different...they like to use turbos to replace displacement. Although it seems as though that seems to be changing cuz of cost reasons. This helps lower the cost of the car and engineering costs. So are you guys telling me that 350z is not the best bang per buck sports car out there? I'm talking about RWD, big engine, comfort, etc...
Honda of america and japan share the same ideas which is FWD is almost as good as RWD. Although there are 2 exceptions the S2K and NSX. Both cars IMO are both underpowered and VTEC is not gods gift to cars. But i do appreciate hondas effort in the seat of your pants thrill to redlining to 9K. Hopefully the new TL and RL will feature biggger engines and RWD...which is important to american luxury car buyer.
I'm a straight up car enthusiast and will give props to where its due...such as the SRT-4. Dodge ripped everyone a new in the sport compact class with that one. We should enjoy the cars coming out because we are having a great 2nd reniassance in car performance. I can go on and on...but its late and this is my opinion in a nutshell.

Mercedes-Benz
Nissan
and dislike the following:

I agree that Nissan/Infiniti has been stepping it up lately. Three years ago the only car I liked in their line up was the maxima...now I love the G35, Z, and FX. These are good looking, comfortable cars that have performance to boot in their respective class. I also believe that the Z is one helluva sports car for under 30k! Sure its no Cobra, but I'm sure it is more solidly built.
Both companies make great cars and boast two of the best engines anywhere are far as reliability and longevity. I guess it depends what your preferences are as to which is better (subjective of course). For some FWD might be an arguement as far as weather conditions...while others will say RWD owns as fa as performance. Some like one type of interior over another...and so on and so forth!

Tough call, would really depend on the specific car requirements. I will say that as a whole, Honda/Acura has nicer interiors. I don't think I would have regretted buying an Accord V6 or CL-S one bit; just as I don't regret buying the Alti.
Honda/Acura dealers are arrogant pricks though.

every manufacturer has their time and Honda had it in the mid to late 90's. Nissan is back and now it's their time. Nissan took massive sales from honda and Acura, while infinity has taken a turn for the better as well. Honda will be back.

also, if you are in the market for a 4 banger, there is no better 4 anywhere than a Honda 4 whether you are doing an H22 swap into a civic, or are just going stock with a k20 rsx motor.

Nissan rocks.
But they just don't have anything realistic in the CL class right now. Z & G are just a bit too small as I use the back seat from time to time. Now, I would consider the Z vert...if they weren't asking $7K over sticker right now...

I've own both Hondas and Nissans and both companies my fine performing, reliable cars. I think Honda makes better manual transmissions which has tipped the scale for me towards Honda lately.

All else being equal I would choose honda over nissan. Visibility, ergonomics etc. just seem to "fit" with Honda/Acura.
And Honda's reliability seems to have a better long term track record. Toyota is even better but the Toyota badge doesn't make anything interesting other than the MR2.
That being said, I admire what infiniti/nissan is doing and if nothing else, they are forcing everyone to keep up in the hp department.
Competition is a good thing!

Buy NISSAN!!!
My NSANY stock is up over 60% in the past 3 years already! I bought right before they started making money for the first time in like 10 years.
as soon as it reaches 22-23, i'm selling and locking in my gains.

I think RIGHT NOW, Honda has the better model reputation. People know the Civic, Accord, Pilot, s2000, and Odysey.
But Nissan is still undergoing it's revitalization and is trying to build a reputation for it's models.
as for Acura vs. Infiniti,
I have to give it to Acura because it is known for the TL, MDX, and RSX not to mention the NSX. Infiniti has only recently made a buzz with the G35 and some buzz with the FX. The Q45 was more or less a lot of failed hype, although it is alright. the M45 is fugly. I do think the QX540 or whatever they will call it will be a hit though.
I am betting on NIssan/infiniti to surpass Honda/Acura though because they are taking more calculated risks, as well as already having a rwd and truck platform and V8. Toyota had these ingredients and they were able to use it to their advantage. Honda has neither a truck platform or V8, and only limited use of the rwd platforms.

G35's are selling good now...but I've already seen the horror of their re-sale...
I was gonna buy one with 6K miles for $31K but it had some dents they wouldn't fix for that price...It was an auto with Navi...sticker was over $36K & they sold it to some kid for $31K. That is a sucky-ass re-sale value...on par to be WORSE than the CLS...and I am a Nissan man at heart.
The G & Z are great for single people, but are very impractical for anyone with any type of family unit. It almost has to be a second car just for joy rides...but I don't know too many people who can afford to buy one as a second car(at my age anyhow...30).
