Honda/Acura Transmissions

my cousin is in the market for a used car and she wants either a honda or acura. i kno the TL's and CL's tip tronic transmissions are bad but are the tranmissions on the 1st generations reliable? what about on accords and legends? i heard that all automatic honda tranmissions from 98-03 are bad.... is this true?

thanks in advance

true for the 98-03 transmissions. I would go with either a 04+TL, 03+ accord if she needs lots of room. If not that much room, a 04+ TSX should be fine.

The automatics on 1st generation TL's and RL's are very reliable.

I think the 4 cyl are more reliable, correct? What about an 04 TSX or 4 cyl Accord?

get a 04 6MT, if it's too much money for her then just get a 03 6MT accord coupe.

I have an ;04 Accord V6, and I have never had a problem with the transmission. Go with the Accord.

I agree with you here. Girls who are bad drivers do not need additional distractions (like an MT) which could make them worse.
