Hmm how about an S type R?

Well, still searching for a car. My grandfather is too. So we decided to go to FC Kerbeck in NJ cause he wants a Cadillac. We get there and they are closed. But they have an 03 Jaguar S Type R with 17k miles on it for only $42K. Now thats nothing to sneeze at, but man I think it's a great deal.

I'm gonna call them about the car tomorrow and find out some details. Any here had any experience in dealing with them? The price just seems way too low and I question where they got the car from.

Thanks

He's stuck on the DHS. Why? Cause he wants the shifter on the column and it's the only one they make like that.

Such a pain. But I told him to get what he wants. At his age he deserves it.

Its not that great of a deal considering the 05 went down about $4,500 in MSRP......bases at about $58k. Not to mention, you can probably get at least $2-3k off the new MSRP.

So you're talking a new face lifted 05 for $55k give or take, the used car doesn't look like such a great deal.

It was, used to base at about $63k (03-04) with Nav being the only option.

Now for 05 (just checked)....the MSRP is now $58,995 with Nav and Adaptive cruise control being the only options.

Found this info

"Jaguar is re-aligning the price of its 390 bhp (SAE) refined rocket ship to widen its appeal to buyers - and to bring it more in line with key rivals, like BMW's 545i Sport. The new version will be priced at $58,995, including delivery and destination - down from $63,120."

The 05 looks good, new wheels/bumpers/dash/grille/rear lights/ tighter sheet metal gaps.

Wow that looks really good.........is that the one based off the Taurus? or is that the X-type?

EDIT: Why doesn't it have the leaping jaguar hood ornament? That's like a Lamborghini not having "lambo" doors! Oh wait.......

The X-Type is based off of the Ford Mondeo in Europe......the S-Type is built on its own platform (which is also used on the Lincoln LS and the Thunderbird).

That photo is of a Euro model, the U.S. version has the leaper.

Meh, Jaguar styling hasn't changed in 30+ years. Theres a guy around the corner from me with a 1976 Jag Sedan, not sure the exact model name, but it looks just like all the new XJ's roaming town. Plus their quality is shitty. My friends grandfather had one, and one night going home from the marina where we kept our boats, it started to rain. He tries to put the top up and it only goes about 3/4 of the way. He had to drive and hold the top down to prevent the interior from getting to wet. Sorry, but I think there are much better cars out there in that price range.
