His name was Jack
Drove 65 miles to look at a pre-owned C Class priced at $21,000.00 and arrived a few minutes after we closed. Said he would offer $18,200.00 OTD. When I informed him this would not be possible he asked me what was possible. When I asked him if he wanted to test drive the car he was considering to buy he got angry and said that because I wasn't immediately giving him his OTD "best price" I was keeping him here late. This was 20 minutes after we closed. When I gave him the price which was about $23,000.00 OTD he got this huffy look and stormed out.
His real name actually was "Jack" which, to be honest, I thought fit him rather well.

Ha ha. I told him in over 7 years of doing this I had never sold a customer a used car which they didn't want to drive first. He told me he didn't care what I knew or didn't know.
But I was right!

Maybe he didn't see the point in test driving it if he wasn't going to be able to get it for the price he wanted to pay (ie. that's all he could afford) . Still, that's no reason to be a jackass.

Ah, what I call the "me first" mentality. It's sweeping the world and causing people to act irrationally and only think of themselves. Huge sense of entitlement. I started noticing it about 5 years ago, like someone flipped a switch. Very strange.

Could not agree more. And it will be the demise of the Once Great USA.

So your a car salesman? Its funny that he got angry and not you. In my experience, its always the salesman that seem/pretend/are offended. He had no right to be angry, especially the way he "negotiated" with his OTD.
I don't think either party should ever get upset with car buying, both should work out a deal and if it doesn't work, it doesn't work.
One dealerships salesman that my dad has bought 2 cars from previously, told my dad to get out of there because he was coming back too many times without buying something.

Anyway, for something more fun. CL6, how does a C-class drive, anyway?
