High beam question.

I just installed 9005 yellow high beams and they are 100watt. My stock bulbs were 60watt. Will the new 100watt bulbs melt the headlight housing?

I think I did something similar in my legend without problems. I think the wiring harness might be of concern, but considering at least I don't drive more than a few minutes with my highbeams on at a time, I was never that concerned.

Same here, I only click them on to see signs so I guess it won't be a major problem.

i had 65w yellow 9005 bulbs in my cl before I got rid of it and it was fine. Why did you get 100watt 9005 bulbs?

Well, i wouldn't recommend putting a bulb that obviously shouldn't be used in your car.

Buy the right bulb and do it and avoid the possibility of problems later.

There are different types of these bulbs. Just cause it says 100W doesn't mean it is. Many bulbs have better optics that perform like a 100W but are really 65W. A lot of PIAA bulbs are this way.
If it is truly 100W then it's the wiring I would be more worried about. You could burn it out. But as stated your highbeams are not used much & if they are, for only shorts periods. You may be ok.

Also, Friday is slow here may want to give it a little time before you post the same question in another section.
