Help Purchasing a car in Florida (Temp Tags)
Long time no see fellas!
I'm planning on an out of state Purchase from Florida and driving the car home to California.
The only problem is the temporary tags. In order for Florida to issue you temporary tags, they require you to pay the 6% sales tax.
That means I'd have to pay 6% sales tax in Florida, and then another 8+% in California.
Is there anything I can do to avoid this besides having the car shipped?
Thanks in advance

Also, any chance CA will just make you pay the 2% difference between the two states? It strikes me odd that FL would force you to pay the sales tax to get a temporary tag when the states I've had experience in (Tennessee and Ohio) just charge you a small flat fee ($30-$50) for a 30 day tag.
