help header bolt broken on accord

didnt know where i could put this b/c it didnt have to do with an acura

anyway

ok my fiance picked up a 95 accord coupe non vtec 4cylinder back in jan.
only paid 2k for it with 170k and its a 5 speed.
her exhaust was getting louder up in the engine bay, so i took apart the manifold and found one of the studs sticking out that helps attach the header to the motor, was misssing.

i am no expert on tapping or drilling out bolts, but i did my best, i used a 1/4 drill bit and used lubricant to help drill out the hole. i only got so far and i couldnt drill anymore.
i tried to use a self tapping screw w/o success.

so reassembled everything reusing the old gasket b/c i knew i would be taking it apart inthe future any way and also teh local shops werent open on sundays.

so my question is , is it cheaper to replace the unit that the header bolts on to or is it cheaper to have the dealer install a new stud.

the stud that is broke off is the one on the very end of the right side of the manifold

Ur talking about the nut right? or the bolt that extends from the head to the header.

I have the same engine and same header I installed my other header myself so im familiar with the picture you posted but im not understanding what the problem is.

you are talking about part #11? the nut that screws onto the "stud" bolt extending from the engine block/head?

so that bolt broke off and now you cannot screw the nut on to close the gap between engine and header... so it keeps leaking?

im not sure if they can put another stud onto the "exhaust manifold?" I dunno?? perhaps they would weld it on and rethread.

yeah I get it... where part #11 screws into... ask the dealer im not sure you can just "replace" the stud it is part of that whole engine block part... if it can be welded then they could do that but it will never be the same as before and you will probably still have that exhaust leak... try and buy a new engine should only cost you 400 or something for a newer f22a1 or get a f23a1.

lol for 1 rubber bushing for the front shock ... if you look under the hood where the sway bar attaches to the frame of the car... you can see a rubber bushing sticking up...

15.95 at the dealer...plus special order time.

1.49 on acuraautomotiveparts.org

mother fuckers... except on the website minimum order is $30.

I ended up buying a suspension install kit for 17.20 shipped... comes with 2 which I need... really sucks though could have just spent 6 bucks and had them here but no... there is a minumum order.

try websites they have it even cheaper.

I think you can buy new block or new head for 200-300... so might want to do that... a cheap "upgrade" and it will fix your exhaust leak. I mean 170k is a lot of miles.
