Guess what I saw in Sri Lanka...??
Okay, it was NOT a CL or TL... but an SL55 AMG!! In the US, Europe or the more wealthy asian nations that is not a big deal, but in Sri Lanka where they charge a 200% to 250% tax on cars, its a pretty big deal!! So some dude (probably some corrupt government official) has spent > US $200K on this car. Just FYI, the conversion: 1 US Dollar = 104 Rupees. That means > Rs. 20M. The average Joe makes about Rs. 10,000 / month!
Honda Civics with a measly 1.3 liter engine cost about $18K with the i-VTEC models
going for $24K.
They even sell new Audi A4's with a 1.5L NA motor, BMW 3-series with a 1.6L motor.

Sounds typical of third world countries, Allmotor. I was in Colombia back in 96 and saw no shortage of S-Class MBs (although most folks were driving Chevy Sprints aka Suzuki Swifts). The biggest irony being that they cost 2-3x more there than stateside.
As this was back in '96, Mitsu was selling the 96 GST at $40G USD. Very different economic dynamics exist in 3rd world nations.
Jack, isnt it a shame that Pakistan get's to see an R34 GTR regularly on the streets but we can only see it @ HIN stateside??
