I started to say something funny, but I just can't do it. This is horrible and I absolutely, positively hate a thief. This is nuts.

yea there had to be more than one van to be able to hall the wieght of all those wheels plus their tools plus all the cinder blocks needed to drop the cars on, and the cars were hurt.....rocker panels pushed in from the blocks and some of the rotors mite have gotten damaged. so as for sell wise i dont know how my work is going to deal with that part. and yea 36 wheels just from my place plus the other dealers, very ballsy. yea i know my camera sucks its an old blackberry but i dont care dont take pics much anyways

^ ouch! I had a customer who was an Audi dealer and they had a disgruntled employee come in and key EVERY panel on EVERY single new car on the lot. They had insurance, but a $30k deductible. Had to sell each car as "used" and took a huge loss. The only good thing was that they caught the guy. I hate to see this but I hope they're caught.

Looks like you guys got robbed by a formula 1 pitstop team. Start your search there. They probably completed the robbery in around 6 minutes too from the looks of it

Dang. That sucks.

Reminds me of the wheels stolen off Chevy Tahoes and Escalades -- http://www.carrollcountytimes.com/ne...cc4c03286.html

Them's tough times out there.

Thieves should be sent to prison under the guise of being pedos... And thrown into general pop. That will teach them a lesson.

its by far the easiest, most expensive car part to steal, and sell.

fast, no Vin #s, no risk of damage, and a high demand market with little suspiscion.

This happened at carmax here a few days ago:

Apparently the thieves stole a huge UHaul from next door the day before and took 48 wheels over night.

Time to put on locks on every new car that comes in? It's probably not too hard to get a key, but anything helps. I helped a family member get a '10 CR-V a year ago and while the dealer negotiated on price, wheel lock was a mandatory accessory because it would "cost even more to take it off and put an ordinary lock back on"

Stupid question: Since rims are such high dollar items, do they have serial numbers that can be matched to the car's VIN?
