Got to have some fun this weekend

I was back home in Atlanta visiting my family (missing that 70 degree weather right now) when one of my dads buddies brought this by (this isn't the actual car, but looks just like it. I can't post my own pictures while I'm at work. If you guys want the real ones later just let me know... I took about 6).

He actually let me take it out for a spin, and I have to say it was a lot of fun. Not really anything special under the hood, but the car is so light that it can't help but be quick. I had no problem getting it sideways. No power steering or power brakes, so that was an odd sensation. I didn't realize how nice power steering really is until I was trying to correct the rear end! Still a blast to drive though! It actually wasn't my dad's buddy's car (it was his neighbors payment for letting him borrow his truck), so I wasn't expecting to get to drive it at all. Made for a fun surprise. Unfortunately, because it wasn't his car he didn't know all the specs, but I'm pretty sure it was just a 302 mustang engine and it had a 5 speed tranny. I had never really paid much attention to kit cars before, but now I think I may look into them for a hobby in a couple of years when I have more disposable income. I really do love classic american muscle!

I've been looking at those factory five kits like crazy! I'm not actually sure if the one I drove was or not. But I'm seriously thinking about getting into this in the next year or two...

I think it would be a blast to do! What's everyone think? I like the shelby kit but I'm falling in love with the 33 roadster.
