Shit 20 dollars a day is a steep price to pay for getting to school - but if you're willing to pay.
I'd just sell your car and not worry about that anymore.

And BTW, I commute 1hr each way per day. Take if from someone who knows, having a book in hand and an iPod in ears makes mass transit commutes very tolerable.
I used to commute 2 and half hours just to go to school in morning rush hour traffic.

Then go to work after words with almost an hour commute combined. Don't want to hear it.

well im not going to judge u as everyone else has and ill answer your question, u wont lose your license for 7 years, im sure that a judge would understand if u explain it the way u have here. i've seen alot of these cases watching alot of my friends in the same situation over the years. my roomate had 2 DUI's in one year, totaling his and anothers car on both occasions, the second was while he was still under suspension for the first. they just gave him a limited license (school and work only) for 6 months and cant drink for 1 year. also has to take his written test again. but thats it. i would advise a laywer for these kind of results.. but your case is nowhere near as intense as his. but i can almost promise u u will have a fine for driving w/out a license and thats about it.

First he bitches about how he doesn't have money. Then someone points out that he's buying a fish tank. Now he wants to pay a buddy $20 a day to drive him to school? Sounds like somebody just makes a rash of stupid decisions. Not a whole lot of "processing" going here before his mind kind of just diarrheas all over the internet.

10 miles...get a bike...it wont be fun, but you'll get used to it, you'll get daily cardio, its faster than public transportation, you'll save $20/day,and you wont have to rely on others..

Hey, genius, you still haven't told us all why you didn't ask for a hardship license....you know, so you can DRIVE to school and back home...

This is the 4th or 5th time this has been brought up (but perhaps it's not an option in CA but I have a hard time believing it), and you just whine about how you have school and can't find a way to get to school and you can't drive and you're going to move to freaking Taiwan or wherever and "stack dollars"...

Grow up, Trojanman...

You bitch and moan more than my last girlfriend who seemed to always be on her period...

Same thing happened in the fish tank thread too actually He selectively filters what he does or doesn't want to hear, be it right or wrong.

I tried to help him in that thread as someone else was giving him bad advice, but he didn't read/listen so I stopped posting.

He seems to be one to like to learn the hard way, he sets himself up for it...

...

^^ Post above me has some good advice in it... (re-read the 1st sentence a few times)

Hardship license is an option in California, even if he was under 21 when he got his DUI, and most, if not all, DUI schools will provide info on getting restricted license from the DMV. He is definitely not telling the whole story.

Isnt this what Paris Hiltion just got through in jail for? I hate to say it but you might be in some trouble so I would do my best to find a REALLY good lawyer and hope you have a easier judge then she did.

Ride a bike to school. My dad did it for his commute which was way over 20 miles, with several hills on the way. He rode his bike in the morning, and in the evening (or when he had trouble), my mom and I would drive half way to pick him up.

Back in the early 90's, we only had one car...

i aint bitching man, im just trying to get info but most of the time its just criticism from a bunch of random internet screen names that im not trying to hear...i do appreciate anybody whos helped though, even you

I think it's great that you've finally taken things seriously and have found alternate ways to get to school. How much you choose to pay someone is your decision as long as you're not behind the wheel (although I agree that $20/day is HEFTY for such a short trip...multiply that by five days a week, for a month....)!

great if you could find lawyer friends to give some advice. otherwise try reading the law in your state about any outs you can get. talk to someone from DMV for more info is my best advice. they'd know best on how to make the situation work.
