Got bored and decided to start another topic

Soo its 3 in the morning and i am getting distracted with my homework, but what is everyone's opinion on buying OEM verses aftermarket. lets get some lists going on what you would buy OEM and what other stuff you really wouldn't care if it was or not. Also take into consideration of your own mental financial limits.

- Sorry if this is just a random rant i am just really bored and studying bio chem seems less interesting than this question

i would say i would go oem for things like the timing belt, axels.
aftermarket pretty much anything else like wheels, tires, airfilters, etc

I think OEM wise Acura did an amazing job with the interior and A-spec lip - everything else can go, starting with the FWD

I lean towards OEM for the major stuff, but some things you can only get aftermarket.

for instance lets say, the difference between getting the DEPO tail lights or OEM tail lights. if you were on a budget would you really care if it was DEPO or not?

Haha who isn't on a budget nowadays? I usually go the cheapest route, without cutting any corners. If that makes sense.. I guess you could say I'm economical

I think if anything is offered in OEM, I'll price it and buy OEM. I know it's going to be a better fit and the color will match better (such as exterior parts). Although I did buy DEPO tails for really cheap and was very happy with them.

I buy OEM because I feel safer doing so.

For actual mechanical parts, I stick with OEM.
