Wire stripper to peel back insulation, stranded wire wrapped around the tapped wire, soldered on and tightly wrapped with quality electrical tape. You can substitute the electrical tape with heatshrink tubing.

If you haven't soldered before it will probably look like crap the first several times you do it but it's my preferred method. People who have decades more experience than I do don't recommend t-taps so I've never used them.

Yeah , I don't even have a solder . I worry the most is about how do I cut and open the wire in the tight place.

just make sure you don't contact a grounding point while a wire is exposed

Use one of these

the 2nd one is easier to use, but it's less reliable. Most of the time it works like a charm, on a smaller wire it can snap them in half. If you don't have a soldering iron or gun then crimping will have to do. I think they're called butt splices (no joke)

any sort of exposed metal, even avoid painted metal just to be safe. When you take off interior panels to get to wires there will usually be metal in close proximity. You mainly need to worry about accidentally grounding a wire when working with a wire that has power going through it, but it's a good habit to be careful either way.

^I would definitely have a friend help out, someone there who knows what they're doing and guiding you is better than any advice you can read. I'm not the best at explaining either I'm more of a "watch this" person....

I want to wire angel eyes. I will buy them after got the money from my father. I already looked at the wiper motor but the wire is in the small place so with someone with no experience like me definitely need more research before do it.

Nice, our group of friends (the Houston Crew) has some pretty knowledgeable people, who like doing stuff like this.

there are plenty of DIY's here on Acurazine, I'm confident that we can help you wire up your Angel Eyes, once you get them.

Preferably, in the fall. As its too hot, right now. lol

That's sound great. I read a lot of DIY and I already opened the headlight once so open again is not a big deal . Only thing I worry about is tapping them into the wiper motor. Thanks Costco for sharing information with me. I can't tell you how badly I want those halos after watch transformer .

I usually just strip and wrap with new wire and solder, but I have had success using these kind of connectors as well

How long can they last under the hood ? It's similar to the T-tap right ?

These suck ass, ive never had any luck getting them to actually go through insulation and make contact with the wiring, just get some 3m T-taps, easy breezy beautiful covergirl

ah maybe that's what I was thinking of. I remember some taps were pretty bad, but I used a few that worked alright. Now that I think of it, it was more of a T-tap. I really haven't used anything besides strippers and solder since like high school

^ until it stops working

Anyway, t-taps seem like theyd last pretty damn long to me, though if it is something which will be constantly jostling back and forth, soldeirng may be your preferred option
