The 10 is not coming till next year and it wont be close to those #,and still can't get over the fact it is auto (in a way). i love my clutch and don't need a computer to help me switch gears. I hardly use the tiptronic on the tl even though the one on the evo will be a twin disc which is totally diff.

My situation was different as i had a wife and two kids and the STI was my daily driver and main family car (I know dumb mistake).

The sti is a great car but it is a one dimensional vehicle- go fast! I eventually got tired of having every punk in town revving and trying to race and missed the creature comforts of my TSX like the power seats, audio controls on the steering wheel, built in NAV, quiet ride and leather seats.

In the end I would love to have kept both vehicles and used the STI as my pleasure vehicle and not my daily machine. I still miss my TSX to this day.
^^^ EXACTLY why I would not trade a TSX for an STi.

Though it makes the most of its K24A, the TSX is ONLY lacking in power......and nothing else IMHO.

The evo 10 will have a manual gearbox or an automatic paddeshift as an option. Both will be available from what I heard.

That is actually what I paid for my GSR back in June, but I heard the prices are several thousand more now since they are running low on stock (atleast around here in socal). It doesn't make sense even though it is an 06 model.

Good luck with your purchase kobi, I myself will be waiting for the 09' EVO X as I plan on keeping the IX and getting the X once its paid off.

Btw, what color do you plan on getting?

Gray. Dealers here are trying to get rid of them and i will capitalize on that. The x is ok but because of the common part mitsu and dodge and the fact the the block is aluminum. I came down from that road when I turbo'd my 95 gsr integra. And had to sleeve for the added power. The water jacket also scares me for honda did that and worked well for all motor but not forced induction. I will wait a couple of years to see how things go before i take that dive. But looks like I will be on may way to the dealer now. i got one in palm beach that will do what daytona will do. Getting the se model,will let you know

I could not agree more, the TSX is a great car, that just happens to be on the slow side.

Don't forget the WRX sTi and Mitsu Evolution are rally-inspired, 2.0 liter turbocharged, all wheel drive automobiles designed to compete in the homologated FIA World Rally Championships.

Most people seem to forget how well these cars can handle. It is amazing how a four dour sedan can grip tarmac, gravel, or snow. In reality it is a go cart, its fun on the race track if thats your hobby, but if you plan on commuting with this car on the streets it can be a bit annoying and get you into a lot of trouble.

Unfortunately, both the STi/Evo also never make you forget their Impreza/Lancer origins.

But, if I ever need to blast through a moutain forest @ 100 mph+, the STi will be tops on my list.

Whos says you have to go 100+mph? I take my car up to go snowboarding+skiing up in tahoe/mammoth/big bear all the time and its serves it purpose... I just get there a little faster...with snow tires, its unstoppable in the icy/snowy roads

The TSX/TL/CL is a great car no doubt, and thats why I own one. Lets not forget why Honda/Acura designed these cars the way they did. This is why my TL remains as my daily driver.

Ahhhh, ok!

still, only 40-60K if DD? Isn't that kinda low?

surprised no ne has mentioned if you want sti power wih luxury legacy gt it is. tsx has more goodies inside, but not enough to get me buy one, but most importantly the fwd was the deal breaker. insurance is cheaper on the lgt, cost less the a used sti, and the ladies like it much better then the sti. also lgt has same engine block, heads, etc as sti and mods are easily avail. well at least up until 06 anyways. seems like the 07 stis have been tweaked.

finding the MT is the harder part, but i've seen 05 lgts going for 19-22 depending on options. 06s can be had for 24-25. really a great deal until mazda started unloading the ms6 for cheap. a new ms6 can be had for about the same price as used 06 lgt, slightly more, but go figure

I guess it is time for me to Chime in...I used to be a huge contributer to this forum...I bought my TSX in June of 2005, and after 9 months, 2 accidents (none my fault) It was time to rid myself of the TSX. I bought a 2005 STi, Aspen White...and I can't say any bad things about it. Well it does not have Leather, Heated seats and some other things, but I got some good advise from someone i know. The STI is a performance car....but it had no interior, the TSX was not power or suspension but nice interior. What I was told and was true was that you cant make power and be safe at a good price, but you can add interior and luxury into something with power...I have done that by adding a Eclipse Navigation Unit....Sirius and iPod. Tinting and subs...If you have any questions please PM or email me...my username is also my AIM... Here are some pics of my STi. I am running Cobb Stage 2 Dyno'ed at 369HP/390TQ AWD Dyno....

nice sti as the rest have said. clean i think i've seen you before.

should clarify those dyno numbers are estimated flywheel because otherwise this person is going to be pissed if they do buy a sti and think a simple cobb stage 2 flash for $645 and another $1000 in required bolt ons is going to add over 100/100 to the wheels. 70hp and 90tq at the flywheel is right on target. still an awesome gain for so little $$$$

average stock power
sti= 240 / 250
lgt= 200 / 220

average cobb stage 2 power to wheels
sti= 280 / 320
lgt= 240 / 290

protunes with oem turbo to the wheels
sti ??? guessing around 300 / 340
lgt= 260 / 320

lgt with sti v39 turbo = same as sti in above power levels

the subie ej255 is great, responds well, and is very reliable even well over oem power levels

peace

On a DynoPak Dynometer, AWD at the wheels ran 292hp, 332 tqu....Those are the Wheel Numbers...My friend running Stage 2, Turbo Inlet and Meth Injection ran 317Hp/421 Tqu...Reminder these are 5th Gear Pulls...since that is the closest to 1.0...Ratio....

ok that does seem 100% right on, but you are protuned and not running a cobb map. that was my point before. my guess was pretty good then at 300/340 for a protuned stage 2 sti i still think i have seen you b4. were you at the watchung reservation meat last year i think it was.

there were only 2 lgts.
