AMSOIL opinions

What's everyone's opinion on this particular brand of oil? The reason I'm asking is that they have offered to set up a corporate account for me to service most of my lubrication needs. They offer oil types for virtually every type of machinery or automobile that I have, from oils for motorcycles to heavy trucks. I currently use Mobil1 in all my cars and light trucks, Esso industrial lubricants for equipment and heavy trucks, and Maxim synthetic in the bikes. Anyone have any type of experience with AMSOIL in these applications? It would be much more convenient to buy all of my oil products from one supplier at a discounted price rather than buying it from different vendors. I use a synthetic now because of excellent wear protection and extremely cold start up temperatures (at times -35). If anyone has experience using AMSOIL products in automobile to heavy equipment applications please let me know.

Thanks everyone

Once the my SHO comes out for summer I will be using Amsoil and also when my Golf needs an oil change I will be putting in Amsoil.

My brother and his buddy swear by the stuff. They've done oil analysis' before and after to see how much metal content was in the oil among other things, they also found a huge difference when they used the Amsoil oil filter and air filter as well.

I get the impression that they sell high quality products.

Amsoil is a better oil over Mobil 1 these days. Check out Bobistheoilguy.com forums and read up. They are one of the best oil products out.

I was looking for information on synthetic oils to use in my ATVs not long ago, I ended up using Shell Rotella Synthetic 5w-40, it is @ $13 at Wall Mart for a gallon.
Nothing against Amsoil, they also offered me distribution, but at the end it wasn't worth it to me.
Take a look at this site http://www.calsci.com/motorcycleinfo...ables.html#Oil it is for motorcycles, but oil info obviously applies to cars also.

I really despise their marketing (and claims), but they are generally good products that are priced competitively. Their new oil filter is top notch in the industry.

Use their oil in both of my vehicles but went with Wix oversize filters instead of the Amsoil ones.

I still think oversized filters are a bad idea...

107,000+ and Blackstone labs seems to think otherwise.

Yeah, wait till you get a dud from Wix that ruins your engine (i.e. gasket failure), and try making a warranty claim against them.

Thanks for the opinions everyone. It seems that every oil manufacturer is continually making claims to the superiority of their products, but I've decided to give them a try. I like the way they can supply different oils for different applications.

Thanks again everyone. Much appreciated.

Who's to say it won't happen with ANY filter manufacturer?

And if it does happen, all the more reason to go with the 3.5L upgrade in my TL.
