In my experience, depending on the vehicle/dealer/salesman, theyll still work out a deal as if they had the car on the lot.

You may not get as good a deal as traditionally dealers getting the trade do not get the holdback.

I made an offer on this today.

2003 with only 30,000 miles on the odo; clean history. Normally a bit out of range, but I'll have it at invoice cost. It drives magnificently & made me miss my Si. If all goes well, I'll have my TL as well.

Nice

I was driving next to an Abarth on Sunday. I maintain that it is possibly the best sounding stock new car for under $30k.

Anyone know or have any experience with Team Dynamics wheels?

I'm thinking of possibly ordering a set of the Pro Race 1.2 for the ST.

Most likely in anthracite.

I don't have personal experience with them but I know Team Dynamics has been around for a long ass time and is a reputable brand. And I think those would look great on your car! Let us know how it goes.

I guess Callaway is actually making this...

Callaway Cars Reveals 2014 Corvette-Based AeroWagon Concept

Want a 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray but need a bit more cargo space? Callaway Cars may have the answer with this AeroWagon concept. Callaway has a long history of modifying Corvettes, both for better performance by way of new suspension parts and superchargers, and also with bespoke bodywork.

The AeroWagon is based on the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, but with new carbon-fiber bodywork after of the seats which creates a dramatic shooting break design. With its squat proportions and the way the low roofline angles down toward the flared rear fenders, the AeroWagon concept looks similar to a Ferrari FF in profile.

Callaway Cars AeroWagon concept profile 300x187 imageA Callaway representative told us that the AeroWagon would have an opening rear hatch and more cargo room than a standard 2014 Corvette. All the additional bodywork is made from carbon-fiber and would be constructed at Callaway’s carbon-fiber facility in Santa Ana, California. The body was penned by company designer Paul Deutschman.

Although it is officially just a design study for now, Callaway has already received calls from customers interested in buying the AeroWagon. It could go on sale as soon as this fall, and the company projects a cost of no more than $15,000 for the conversion.

Callaway is also working on upgrades including new wheels, suspension, brakes, and engine performance for the C7 Corvette. Those could potentially be installed on a customer’s AeroWagon, or on any standard 2014 Corvette Stingray coupe or convertible.

No word yet since then. They said they would sell it to me at $15,000, but because the manager wasn't there, they want to be sure I get it at the actual invoice price. If above, I get it for $15K. If below, I get it for that, plus $400.

I'll find out tomorrow if the deal goes through.

Nürburgring for sale, yours for only $165 million

By Zach Bowman RSS feed

Posted Mar 18th 2013 2:15PM

If you've been wondering what to do with that $165-million stack of pennies in your bedroom, we may have an idea for you. The Nürburgring is officially up for sale, including the arena, museum, Norschleife and even the defunct roller coaster. The government-owned motorsports complex fell into bankruptcy last July, and while we heard plenty of rumors on the topic of potential buyers, the list of serious parties interested in the complex has reportedly shrunk from somewhere around 50 to a more manageable five or 10. Jens Lieser, a state-appointed liquidator told BridgetoGantry.com that there isn't "a single Oligarch or Sheik amongst them."

That's good news for fans of the 'Ring who worried some impossibly wealthy individual would turn the track into their own personal playground. But those close to the fate of the facility say that doesn't mean the Nürburgring will necessarily continue on as fans know it right now. Any private company that looks to sink their teeth into the motorsports icon will undoubtedly start by looking into ways to reduce the track's losses, and that will likely start with cutting grassroots motorsports events and nixing public driving. While those two activities make the Nürburgring an icon the world over, they don't rake in cash.

Us? We can't help but wonder if it wouldn't be wise for automakers to pool their resources and set up a joint-venture of sorts. After all, many of them have dedicated skunkworks facilities near the track for testing purposes, and if the 'Ring falls into private hands, their ability to continue to operate may be drawn into question.

I think I am going to have to put the car shopping on hold for a bit.
I was sold on the VW Jetta Sportwagen TDI, but it was difficult to find the combination I wanted (Silver on Black, Sunroof, Manual trans) so I thought I'd wait a bit.
Through a little, okay a lot, of research I found out that there is potentially a new JSW coming to the US early 2014 as a 2015 model.
Then, today I read that at the New York Auto Show later this month, BMW is announcing the 328d which will be released later this summer. Even better, it is likely to be released as a wagon as well.

Looks like the market for diesel powered cars will get MUCH better in the coming years.

But, will the 328D be available with a manual? IIRC, the 335D was auto only?

^^I hope so, but it's not a deal breaker for me anymore. Traffic on my commute is steadily getting worse and that makes driving a stick a pain in the ass.

Odds are if I wanted a manual trans in the 328d, I'd have to special order it b/c 99% of the BMWs currently on lots are autos.

forsure!

So I got a question.

Say theres a dumbass driver that does something that is going to make you hit him. But you see that you're able to avoid the crash and you do so and inevitably you hit another car. Now I take it the liability all falls on you right?? So the way the system is set up, you would wanna hit the dumbass driver because its his mistake and not try to avoid it too much, which may make it your fault??

I'm just curious if that is true. Because I have never been in an accident but I've avoided a few in my time. Most of the time I avoided by also making sure I wasnt going to hit anything. There was one instance where it was instincts and I was lucky there was no car right next to me.

I dunno about liability purposes but in most cases unless you're prepared for it ahead of time, you should never swerve to avoid an obstacle if that's the only way to prevent an accident. You run the risk of involving someone else in it too.

What I've been told is to hit the brakes if you don't know what's immediately to either side of you, or what traffic is incoming.

You should get a dash cam, and then hit the asshole that is trying to make you hit him.
