As true as that is, with the Z/28 going in a completely opposite direction for a Camaro, it's not hard to believe that the way it feels as a "driver's car" also did a 180.
That hasn't been case since the second gen models. Since then, the Z/28 and SS shared the same block. The fourth gen SS was, oddly enough, the one set up for handling.

I'm torn. I get a kick out of seeing cars like that being used for odd things, but at the same time, the F40 is such a rare and expensive car it almost feels wrong to do that.
That was better for balance and handling, which is why the factory options such as the IROC and SS packages focused on handling rather than drag strips.
The superchargers now produce torque that was only available with big blocks back in the day, so...
I talked to my dealer today and the car is now considered a "SOLD ORDER" which will have my name on it and expedite the process.
He does not yet have a VIN and his update tracker shows 20% which, from what I understand, means that it is currently being manufactured or some iteration thereof.

Would LOVE to hear 40% when I hear from him next week.

Apparently it's still waiting to be built. Once that happens though, things happen quick. Will wait another week to call. Getting impatient.
I keep looking and can't find anything around $35K that is compelling enough to trade my car for ... Which is crazy.
It's all two year old E-Classes and year old C-Classes and a bunch of boring FWD automatics.
Why do we make such boring cars?

4 door, RWD, hatch preferably, and under $35k?
$35k will no longer get your anything "desirable". You can get top of the line Econo box or stripped base Tier 1 cars.
Everything you want is in the high 40s to mid 50 range. That is the reality, face it.
Now pay up.
BTW: starting Oct. 1 BMW will have another small price hike.
