I have a picture of a Testarossa. Not sure what brand it is though. 1/18 Scale Cars are a must as well.

I just have some free posters from the auto show and any interesting automotive art that I get at those college poster sales.

I have a bunch of small scale models in my room and a few car posters. I was going to bring some models to the office but I figure if I'm ever fired its less shit to carry out.

really nice lines and curves on the new Mustang. I think it's the best they've done in terms of fit and finish. It will look quite serious with appropriate wheel/tire and suspension mods.

If only GM had the sense to make the C7 more like this than what they came up with it would be a no-brainer as the best car for the money in the world. Aesthetically and performance wise ... Unfortunately, they ran out of money at the rear of the car and did too much bubbafication of the vents to satisfy unsophisticated 'Muricans

Not, exactly like this. It's 4X the money (at least). But GM really missed an opportunity.

I'm sure that my lack of knowledge about how decisions are made regarding cost influences my opinion of those decisions. But I cannot help but think that someone somewhere either made a cost decision that handicapped the car or someone make a marketing/sales decision that handicapped the car.

I think the shape of the C7 is classic Corvette. And it's *so* close to being what I would consider the perfect American sports car. But something happened along the way that I'm not privy to and I ended up disappointed.

I'm going to school in January for my MBA. Maybe I'll get a better sense of why certain business decisions are made that will make me a little less judgemental and a little more forgiving of compromises.

They got enough backlash about how they ripped off Ferrari styling with what they did, I have a feeling that setting out to actually make a car that looked like a F12 would not have been any better for them. The way I see it, they ran with the other manufacturer's cues they had (Ferrari, GT-R mostly) and then applied the Corvette touches to it so it didn't look TOO blatant. I do agree they could have done a better job on the rear, I think they should have stuck with round taillights. Anyways. I'd love to have a C7Z06 in my garage.

That's certainly true. I just meant more of the F/R layout ... I certainly wouldn't have wanted them to completely rip off the F12.

I have to admit, a C7 Stingray two or three years from now for about $45K is going to be way too compelling to ignore if someone's looking for a sports car/GT.

I'm not getting what you mean by this, care to elaborate a bit?

Also, have you spent some time with one? Not even driving, even being in one or around one (I have yet to drive one (but it will happen soon) - I spent some time as passenger). It's an incredibly polished car, compared to past generations.

I meant the Front engined/Rear drive layout. The F12 and C7 are built more as classic GTs like the Daytona than something like a Gallardo or 458.

I'd put the Maserati Gran Turismo, C7, F12, Aston Martins, etc all in that classic F/R GT body shape. Long hoods, short rear decks, etc.

I haven't been in a C7 yet. I've seen video and pictures of the interior and it looks great. Especially when you spring for the upgraded leather interior. I have no issues at all with it for what the car costs. I just wish they had made some different decisions aesthetically on the exterior.

I wonder if anyone's taken off the black plastic venting/ducting covers and painted them body color yet. That might make things look better (or worse).

No, sorry. What I was saying is that the F/R layout produces a classic outline. And I didn't want GM to make a F12 clone. That said, there are some things they could do within that shape that I might have liked more. It still would have allowed GM to make a unique Corvette but might have been a little less of what I think are the "not-so-good" parts of American preferences.

okay. I hear you and feel similarly about the C7, there are some angles where it just doesn't do it for me. And it has to do with parts of the shape.

42 x1212 is about $51K. I bet he put $4600 down on a $55k MSRP.

I don't know how many payments he has left but unless my math is wrong it's not horrible (given it's a 42 month loan).

That said, the whole "It won't show up on your credit report" is really suspicious. I don't know a bank that would allow an owner to transfer rights to the car and have someone else pay the bill without a new loan (or transfer of the old loan to the new owner).

Plus why would anyone stay on the hook for a loan after selling the car to someone else? And what if he files for bankruptcy and gets the car repossessed as part of the bankrutpcy ... Except I've been making $1200 payments on it?

TL;DR - This is bananas.

Even if the mileage may be "unknown", this still seems way too cheap.

1966 Ford Mustang Convertible.

Would be such an awesome Sunday cruiser...

It feels like a reasonable price for a '66 with an unknown mileage history.

Yeah 12.5k for that is a very reasonable price. Hell I know the mileage of mine and I probably wouldn't price it too much higher (ok maybe 5-6k higher).

Shady? Maybe, but you have to remember that payment is not for lease.

That car brand new is well over $60k. So you do the math.

I think part of it is they were saving some of the additional styling for the Z06/ZR1

That said a little CF or paint really helps the back end. Even though in person i think the back end works. Pictures just dont capture it as well.

I think they make the "diffuser" too big. It should only be half the size of what it is right now. You know the proportion is off when you have to mount your license plate on the diffuser itself.

and the quad tips layout is something i often see on my neighbor's 1990 F150 with Nike logo on the back window.

I was never crazy about the C7 rear. I agree, the diffuser just looks too freaking big. It should have ended around where the strakes end, not halfway up the bumper.

Big swath of shiny black plastic =

Got a chance to sit in a C7 today at the auto show. They only had automatic models unfortunately. It's not a bad place to spend time IMO. It's a little more than what you'd expect for the price.

I am entirely okay with this interior given the car's performance for whatever it costs ... Which is still tens of thousands below competitors.

Just wish I was about the outside.

I don't care less but I do care less. To a point.

If I spent $130K on an Aston Vantage I would want it be way more than the Vette but that's about 2x the price too.

This interior is pretty damn good.

Speaking of Vettes.

Pretty sure if my moving plans don't change by fall, I'm just going to scrap it altogether & go all in on a sports car.

I don't know why (it can't be just the color) but this Z06 looks more like a Z06 than the blue ones:
