Geico is Jerking me around

Guys I hit some ice a while back and called gieco up about it. They finally scheduled me for yesterday at their prefered auto body shop. Got there yesterday, and they blocked my rental(even though its on my policy), and have blocked the claim as well. I have now cancelled my policy, and reported this to the BBB. I'm hopping mad about this.

I would get with them again to get this claim finished. If they don't come through file a complaint against them with your State Insurance Commission, in Virginia that's the way to start.

Its been a while since I hit the ice, and they are "investigating" the at fault claim. I didn't file a complaint when I hit the ice, because I didn't have my deductable saved up($500)

You violated the terms of your policy. You are to report any accident as soon as possible. How long was "a while back" - a year ago? months ago? yeah.

How long has it been from the time of the accident to the filing of the claim?

I think any insurance company would have acted the same way as Gieco.

just for the record you don't have use a "perfered body shop" on their list.
when i got hit in my beater by this old dumb biotch they tried to tell me i had to use one of their "perferred body shops" i called my uncle who happens to be a lawyer. asked him about it. he laughed and said "take it to the shop of your choice." i did. they paid for my shop.

C&D used to carry a regular column on people getting screwed by Geico, and all the other shennanigans they pull. They are real good at randomly dropping people.

I would never get them. Too many horror stories.

I am no fan of Geico but the two claims I have had with them went very smoothly and they were great to deal with.

your bad

you have to report any accident asap, not a month later. any other insurance company would have done the same thing.

re-read your policy.
