G35 coupe 6spd or 350Z?

I'm in the market for a new car..... I have about 35k for my budget, I would like to get your opinions on which car to get and why?

I'm trying to decide whether to get a G35coupe 6spd , 350z or and other suggestions.

depend on what you are looking for. 2 seats or 4 seats, performance or luxury?

Coup. Very well thought out car. The Z would be a great weekend car but imo not for the daily commute. Also, safety, which one is safer?

Go for the G...that thing kicks...and the luxury associated too. But don't know how available the 6-speed is...unless you're looking for auto.

I use my Z for a daily commute. No problems at all. In regards to safety, I think both are similar. No real difference there.

The Coupe is definitely more lux and has 4 seats. I wanted pure performance and didn't have a need for 4 seats or lux, so I went with the Z.

Both are great cars though. Just decide if you want the 4 seats. For lux, a Touring Z is a nice pick too.

I love my Z so I'd have to say Z! Both cars are nice; the g35 is 'prettier' but the Z is edgier and more of a guy's car if you ask me.

again, I like the G alot, but since everyone keeps mentioning more luxury in the G35; what does it have in terms of luxury features that the Z doesn't besides a sun roof and two more seats? If you mean the interior just 'looks' more luxurious in the G35, which is what I think people really mean, they should say so.

my touring Z has:

-Heated, power leather seats
-Heated power mirrors
-DVD Navigation system
-Electronic Traction Control
-Electronic Vehicle stability assist
-Digital and analog speedo (G35 doesnt have digital)
-6 disc in dash bose system
-Front and rear digital tire pressure sensors(pretty sure only Z has this)
-Trip computer
-Programmable shift light (only on Z)
-Auto climate control
-Cruise control
-Leather wrapped shifter and steering wheel
-Homelink system (controls lights etc in house)
-Auto dimming rear view
-Auto sealing windows when door is closed (ala bmw )
-dual auto down power windows actuated by remote key fob
-real brushed aluminum pedals, and dash pieces (g35 is 100% plastic)
...oh and 3 cup holders

I'm in the same market as well. Looking for a 350z or a G35 coupe. In terms of the Z, I'm looking for a performance model 350z with Navi, or Touring with Navi....cant seem to find them anywhere! Gonna check out some G35c's out this weekend.... They seem to be scarce as well........ and no one is budging on Price!

i find the g35 so much more sexy looking. more style.

if you're going to track the car, then go Z.

otherwise, the g35 is slightly more practical.

hmmmm.... luxury huh?

well the G35 has:
-MUCH better leather seats
-Much more comfy ride
-more interior room
-DUAL ZONE auto climate control
-pop-up navigation system
-Infiniti build quality/reliability
-Infiniti service

-Better leather seats? Disagree. I've sat in both and both are equally less comfortable than my old CLS's seats. Same leather.
-Agreed on the comfy ride. Suspension is softer.
-Agreed on the interior room.
-Agreed, but dual zone climate control would be stupid on a two seater.
-Pop up navigation system? Its the same navi I have...its not motorized or anything..i dont see how this is better than mine?? MUCH more glare in sunny weather with the popup nav.
-Infiniti build quality?? Are you kidding? It's built by NISSAN. Same people who built the Z!!
-Agreed on Inifiniti service. It is from what I hear better than Nissan dealers.

the G35 is more similar to the CL in terms of purpose and styling which is why I'm guessing more people here prefer it. I have a feeling you'd get a different response at an s2000 board etc...someone at my350z.com pointed this out recently and I thought it made some sense. I also think the Z looks better; more edgy/ aggressive. The G35 is a nice, but 'safe' design. Designed to appeal to a wider audience. Much like the 01-03 CL.

Infiniti's area always built better than the Nissan side. Just like Lexus is better than Toyota.

Suspension is the same. Both are in the same class in SCCA for the coupes. One is just lighter than the other so it might feel like its softer.

Dual climate would not be stupid on a 2 seater. Why does Mercedes have it in the E55 AMG? :P

So by your logic a honda s2000 is more poorly built than than an acura CL? The S2000 is made in japan, and has VERY little problems. Much less than the american made CL. You've fallen victim to marketing my friend.

Suspension is different on the G35. It's tuned for a softer ride. Not sure where you got your info, and it has nothing to do with their SCCA class.

Dual climate control might make sense in a convertible like the SL55 so that you can blast heat at one passenger, while not the other when the top is down. I used to own a BMW Z3 and I often had the top down with the heat blasting on me on chillier days. The Z on the other hand is not an open air cockpit so air on one side of the car will quickly end up on the other side. That's why I said it would be stupid on a 2 seater...wasnt counting verts...

The Z is great for my daily drive: 60 mile round trip of both country backroads and highway pavement both rough and smooth.

even though the g has more luxury i'd go for the Z cause

-i hate when people are in my back seats
-more aftermarket
-quicker
-and imho the z looks way sleeker from the outside

go with the g35 mainly because its more appealing to people? that seems to be the consensus over here. the point is the Z is the origonal. that thing is way sportier than the g35 is because they are built for two different reasons. the g35 is more or less trying to cut into the 330ci sales figures. its what people want mainly. like what everyone has said. go with the g35 coupe if you want to relax, go with the 350z if you want to raise hell. me personally, i would pick the g35 coupe because i like refinement and I would rather throw some deep dish 19's on it and take it slow. the car is only like 32K. thats a shit load of car for the money and nissan seems to know what they are doing when it comes to building a coupe anyways. i think the RWD platform for the G/Z is pissing all over the CL6 right now as we speak. damn honda is stubborn, listen to what the exhaust note sounds like factory on both the G/Z. they are both undecidebly great cars, quite possibly put in the market for 2 different reasons. find where you come into play.

Because it's a Mercedes and an AMG model so they need every reason possible to charge you a lot of money for it.

Wait for the 'vert! I would. It has a real trunk. I'm not a big fan of hatchbacks. It looks like crap with the top on, but here, it would always be down!

or just get the G now.

The Audi TT has dual climate.. I can't remember all of them, but alot of them do.

S2000 is a expensive Honda. It better be well built for that price tag.

Infiniti is always better built than Nissan, same with Lexus, Acura, Audi, etc. You pay more, you get better service, you get better quality parts on many things. It's not marketing its just a fact. Why would anyone buy a Infiniti if it wasn't built better over a Nissan even though at heart it is still a Nissan? SCCA has alot to do with it. If they are in teh same class they both handle close to teh same #'s. I believe the G35 Coupe ran .90+s in the slalom. The Z did the same. Do you know for a fact they have different suspension? Have you checked the part #s yet? Because when Nissan did the I30. They had the same suspension on the Maxima for the regular modem I30 as in teh GXE MAxima, and step up to teh SE Maxima had the I30T suspension.
