Yeah put it on display to show how a car company can absolutely fail at marketing a 2-door fwd coupe.

The engine alone makes it a collectable. The AP1 engine is still one of the highest hp-to-displacement ratio N/A engines.

Oh boy, here we go again

The only cars on that list that have any possibility of being collectable are the NSX and the ACR versions of the Viper.

Toyota FJ? Seeings how the originals have a very narrow collector's market, I fail to see how the new mass produced ones will suddenly skyrocket in value. In fact, name any 4wd truck in history that is a bona-fide collectable competing at Concours.

That statement somewhat true. I would say that anything in an SUV/Truck class is still a relatively brand new market compared to what would be considered a "collectors car" we can't look at the past for that, however 30 years later maybe they will be collectors?

Maybe I'm biased because I can see myself riding in one of those, but I'm not an SUV kinda person, especially with $4 gas in Chicagoland.

i know this is a boosted engine but the RX-8 engine close to a S2K rev ability and hp output.(provided you get the stick but why the hell would you order or take delivery of an auto RX-8)

The FD RX-7 engine was a turbo, but the RX-8 Renesis rotary is N/A.

The 300's just brought back chrysler, and even after that they sucked so bad Benz tossed them at a huge net loss.
The Mazda Miata did that.

The only reason the Pontiac G8 is here is because of the 300. Ford is struggling to find a car to compete. The 300 is "all americana"

I'm not saying the S2K isn't an amazing car, but it didn't start a trend or anything like that...

so your saying, 30 years from now people will be collecting 94 civics? because thats what most of my friends here drive right now.

I put my money on the Audi RS6. Fast as hell but subtle; and only some 860 imported to the United States for 2003, it's only year here. I've driven one and they have serious collectability, especially if they're well cared for and with low miles.

I think it was an alright list too. It didn't list all the obvious contenders....(corvette, mustang, or very rare limited production models), and chose cars that were different, and somewhat quirky.

Some, like the mini and the FJ, are there because of the following the original have. If we were getting the new Fiat 500, i'm sure it'd be on this list too.

and the Scion is definitely a unique looking car, and I think might change the way a lot of people look at cars. I think it will always at least have a cult following just because of the unique style, which I have to say a lot of people love. With Nissan talking about importing the cube, and other companies seeing that there might be a market in America for these micro japanese econo cars and with the way gas prices are going, I can see these becoming more popular. Although I still feel toyota dropped the ball with the new xB, trying to cater to American tastes, making it bigger and more powerful.

It's not hard at all for me to imagine what will be big dollar cars 30 or 40 years from now. A few:

MKIV Supra
FD-RX7
Pont-GTO (especially with the LS2...)
03-04 Terminator Cobra (These are already prized possessions)
Any Corvette in nice condition.
Something tells pristine E46 M3's will be hot collectors...so many of these have been thrashed into junk by posers.
