nice vids, i usually hate those in car camera street race vids

but the races didn't seem fair when the GT's top speed is over 210 if it were stock?
at those speeds i'd expect aerodynamics to be a major factor

probably would be closer if they started from a dig, but the GT would stilll probably win.

The local boards are going crazy trying to race him. I personally haven't gone out to watch the races as they do so in unsafe areas, imo.

He tried to race my parents (of all people) in my dad's new Porsche Turbo. Pops ain't into all that stuff. I heard he raced a guy in an '04 Lingerfelter (sp?) vette and destroyed it, too...

Theres a difference between taking a stock 100 mph car and modding the hell out of it trying to get it to handle the power of a 200mph and actually having one.

The fact that they usually race until either car tops out favors the GT.

As far as the cops finding the tape. Oh yea. Im sure they have and are building a case against everyone involved. We had a story in the local newspaper come out about how police lurk the boards and even made it into our "verified section." Supposedly a place where only people we "know" are allowed in.

Im sure that GT is a sight to see...but Id rather keep the whole felony thing off any job application I may fill out

I will have to disagree, I think an APU supra especially from a 70 to 160 roll would give the GT all it could handle.

The guy here at my local shop has built 2 Supras--one is theirs and is a 9 second car, the other is rather "stock" looking and is a 10 second car, and further, allegedly has some really long legs. The other is also searching out the GT...

would be interesting to see, though I don't want any part of that (nor condone it). It's just like a couple of other responses here point out: You have a big boy's $150k, top speed toy, and you show it destoying obviously lesser stop-light drag cars. It's more of a race with a Carrera GT or a modded Vette or Porsche or something. I mean, really, I can see getting to 180mph somewhere around here, but getting any faster than that no matter the time of day would be impossible with all the traffic we have. Those 'stangs and Subies ain't gonna come anywhere near the GT over 150mph and that sucker gets there quickly.

From a stop, there are plenty of cars around here that will eat that thing to 140-150mph. Heck, there are a TON of geared up 600-700hp Cobras just in my little area that'd eat that from a light. All of them are solid 10 second cars that don't break either.

Looking at the vid again cracks me up: over 600hp and 500/tq in a light-a$$, purpose built car and he's racing a Subaru from a roll. Gimme a break. It's like me in my G trying to race my dad's Porsche Turbo from a stop (or roll, or whatever)...

Plus it's gonna be extremely embarassing to admit to all the other the felons that the only reason you are in jail with them is because you were street racing your $150K Ford GT. Once the find out I'm sure you'll become everybody's bitch.

Pretty interesting stuff. I just heard about this car this past weekend while talking with a friend that is into the street scene big time.
I kinda thought something was up when I saw the JU tag on it. I knew then it had to be a local car. Might have to cruise that side of town on the weekends and see if he is out and about.
Gotta agree with a couple of other posters. Very few cars around here would be able to attain the top speed of that car but there are LOTS more that would give it a great run and possibly beat it from a stand still. After all, that is what racing is all about, from a stop, not a roll. Namely some Subies or Evos with AWD would keep up with it for longer than some would imagine.
Not taking anything away from this car, it appears to be scary fast from just about any gear or RPM but from the way it looks like he drives, soon that car will be on wreckedexotics.com. Just hope he doesn't hurt anybody innocent in the process.

It's okay. I'm just not into the street scene. Mostly because I'm in the insurance business and deal with dead babies, wives, parents etc all the time...Besides, 9 times out of 10 these a**holes who do this roll around with $10k insurance policies. I'd feel a little different if they actually had larger liability limits and/or assets to protect themselves. Mr. GT will be in hot water, soon.

PS: The black Carrera GT (there's 4 in town) here isn't a street racer, either...

1. if your gonna race the sti that has prolly 150-200 hp less than you at least be a little fair and go from a dig to see how well u can launch the damn thing

2. theres really no excitement in watching it race vs. the cobra, it said the cobra puts down 480 before they race, well over 100 hp less than the gt, they go from a rolll u know whats gonna happen

i'd like to see how well this guy can get that thing outta thw hole.......

Seeing as he is always racing from a roll (all that I have seen), I bet the Renntech would kill him from a stop and would certainly hang around him for about as far as any road around here would ever allow...

I agree totally. The RennTech is a mean machine and somebody driving one wouldn't be intimidated by his car at all.
Since you only see him going from a roll, maybe he has a hard time launching it for a race. I'm not talking about just accelerating from a stop because just about anybody can do that. But rather have the pressure on you to not bog the engine or spin out to bad kinda start. Lot different in race conditions. On a roll just have to drop it down a gear or two to getting into powerband of engine and stand on the gas and off you go!!
Needs to take it to G-ville and put it on a track and do a real race.
