For the last year or so I've been wanting a new car. I was holding off for financial reasons, I had just got a new job and didn't want to jam myself if something went wrong. Well, I've been there almost 2 years now and actually moved into an even better paying position. So I said what the hell and lived a little . I picked up a 2015 Lexus GS 350 F-Sport with the Ultra White/Cabernet combo. After having Honda/Acuras all my life it does feel weird to own a different brand. But like most here, I feel Acura has lost it's way so it was time for a change. So far I love the car, I hear people complain that it's underpowered but I don't feel that way. I mean if I wanted a rocket I would've brought one. It's a known fact that the F-Sport is just an appearance upgrade, so anyone looking for performance extras need to do more research. This car is plenty fast for my everyday needs.
Here's some pics, once I get my detail I'll post some more.
The day I picked her up...
Straight to the tint shop...
Removed the ugly front plate since I live in PA and it's not needed. $36 for 2 bumper plugs is ridiculous but the car looks so much better.
I put a lot of money into my Type S and I don't see myself ever doing that again. I may do a slight drop because the car sits like an SUV now and a JOE Z cat-back exhaust if an AWD version becomes available.
That was the only combo I wanted, I love it. It does have a sport tuned suspension but it still sits high. When I said it only has appearance upgrades, I meant that more in the sense of no engine upgrades. My bad!
I love the new look of Lexus. And that GS is seriously sexy beast. I'd love to have one, but its a bit out of my price range. I am seriously looking at the IS for my next car, but that's at least 6 months off. How's the infotainment system? Is the mouse something you get used to?
nice. i had a starfire pearl IS, and loved that thing.
two things i did immediately are drop (road magnet springs are relatively affordable and drop it a full 2 inches), and i color matched the awkward chrome grille surround and emblem.
i've been eyeing the GS, as the lease deals simply cannot be beat, like mid-400s, nothing down. also, unlike most lexus F-Sport models, flaxen interior is passed thru on the GS. you cannot get anything but a black interior on the other F-Sport models..and the flaxen interior, IMO, is drop dead.
Beautiful. The red interior is to die for on these cars.

You should definitely try to lower your car but I should not be the one to say that.
Thanks guys... I searched for this combo, I wouldn't accept it any other way. I drove one with the Flaxen interior but it didn't give me the same feeling.

It was at the top of my budget but the numbers all worked out when I went to the dealer. When it was all said and done, it was actually a lot cheaper than what I thought I would get a 15 for.

I definitely want to do the drop, I just have to do some research. Yea, the deals are insane. I didn't put anything down but I did do MSDs which made the deal ever sweeter. The only thing that sucked was the MF was higher for the Northeast region, so I couldn't match other deals I was seeing online.

I leased it. This is my first lease, and so far I'm happy with it. The deals are amazing right now.
That's only $20 a month more than I paid for my TSX. Seriously tempting, but I'm just against the idea of leasing. It feels too much like renting. Its good for some people, no doubt about it, but I personally want to see the light at the end of the financing tunnel. Still an amazingly sexy car. Looking at the pictures at the top of the thread makes me visit financing calculators.

You can make your payment whatever you want. My 2013 Lexus payment was $225 a month.
My current used TSX wagon, payment is $1053 a month.

I use to be completely against it too, but then I noticed a trend. For my last 3 vehicles, every time I finished paying a car off, I purchased a new one. I don't keep cars long after they are paid off, so to me there's no big difference. But like you said, it's not for everyone.

Most people don't understand lease. It isn't any difference than buying.
Simple example: If it is 200$/per 10K financed (for simplicity sake), your payment on a 40K car should be 600$/month.
That SAME car could lease for 300$ a month. Thus SAVING you $300 a month.
If you put the DIFFERENCE between y our lease and what the PAYMENt (purchase) should be, once the lease is up, BAM you can put that whole thing down on the car.
Leasing and buying, there is really no difference.
Most people have no clue how to calculate the money factor and never even negotiate the purchase price on a lease. Dealers LOVE people who negotiate on monthly payments (whether it is a lease or purchase).
Another popular, aggressive spring set you will likely come across on clublexus are Tein S springs. Not the "H", but the "S". It is 1.7" front, and 1.2" rear, so relatively aggressive, and actually results in a more level drop, although the numbers infer a raked look.
i passed on road magnets and got Tien S's...here they are on my old IS RWD.

Work with the dealers online and you can beat that deal... and get a F-Sport
Well do tell about how to work with dealers online and how to get the best deal. Would love to hear how you did it.

How? I'd love to learn for my next car buying experience.
