Fiance got a new car

We traded in her 03 Cadillac CTS and got a brand new 06 Nissan Maxima SE loaded with just about everything. It's black on black with dark limo tint.

She's not really a car person so she just wanted something she liked that had a lot of room. At first, she really wanted an Avalon but a loaded one was too much $$$. We also looked at the TSX but it was just too small. TL was nice but also too much $$$.

The car rides and handles nicely and she is very happy with it.

Just wanted to share- that's all!

A few months back I got to drive a brand new Maxima SE as a loaner for 2 days while my Z was in the shop. The car had 8 miles on it when I drove it off the lot.

Overall it is a nice car. I'm not a huge fan of the styling, but the car was solid, the engine is great and it had plenty of room. Not a bad choice by any means. Why did you get rid of the CTS? I think I would prefer that over a Maxima myself.

I like the way they drive, but I'm not a big fan of how the look. I'm considering getting an 03 Maxima for the wife.

WHY did you ditch the CTS? I would've liked the RWD setup on the CTS. I think 03 was a first yr for that car though, so did she have some issues with the car?

She got the CTS in early 04 with about 20K miles on it. Her best friend worked at the Cadillac dealership and sold the CTS to her for $21,500.

By the time she traded it in, the CTS had 68K miles on it and her front brakes needed new pads. The dealership wanted almost $400 for new front pads Anyways, me being the car guy got her interested in something brand new. She was getting bored of the CTS. The nissan dealship gave her $16,500 for it which was a few grand more than she owed. Overall, it was a very nice car and we both enjoyed it although I definitely could have used more space.

The CTS also had the 3.2 ltr engine which was fairly gutless. The newer ones are supposedly more powerful. FWD or RWD makes no difference to her. I have an 05 GTO when I need my power fix.

I would think the Maxima and the TL would be close in price... How far was the spread between these cars

We got the Maxima at 2% below invoice plus 1500 rebate. The total came out to just over 27K including tax/title/license. I don't think I could have gotten a TL close to this.

Good luck with the car, i love the maximas but they have the turning radius of Mars . A 3 point turn in a maxima translates into a 5+ turn.

wow, nice pick.
I think MAXIMA is better than acura-TL in so many ways, the 4 seater elite package looked very nice.

i am a former maxima owner, and i love maxi's. but goddamn the current gen looks so fugly! sure VQ is great, but that car handles like a yacht... even with suspension upgrades.

i would take a previous gen maxima over the current gen save money to hook up a stillen s/c.

Really, the only thing preventing me from buying one is that I have yet to see an interior that I like for it...

Power everthing, more rear seat room and the extra awesome sunroof. The extra bright xenon is something to die for also.

Uhh... this is different from the TL, how???

TL is power everything. I'll give you the Maxima has more rear seat room but it also handles like a boat. The TL has a more than adequate sunroof, and the TL's xenon's are excellent.
