Let me know if you go the BMW route - I work with BMW of South Austin and talk with the GM weekly.

I think Kurt should buy a BMW.

It's important to keep up appearances.

I saw an M3 up close and personal today...a brand new one in shiny primer color with the black grills and I thought it looked fantastic.

Change the BMW badge for Pontiac and tell me you'd say the same thing.

Did you look at the front or just the back? Makes sense if you just looked at the back.

I saw a new M3 Comp the other day. It came up from behind and passed by. I have to admit, it had a great road presence. I wouldn't kick it out of bed...

Dirty ass windshield photos.

I'd buy one if I had the money to burn. Love that color too.

in going back to look at the pics I took of it...I will say it doesn't photograph well...
but in person, the grill was a non-issue to me...the car looks great IMO.

People said the same thing about the Acura etc and all the new shit with bigger grills.
at this point I feel like it's people repeating the joke that was made when it was first revealed.
If you're objective about it...it looks good.

It reminds me of this movie I saw once where this girl took a taxi except it wasn't a real taxi, it was a fake taxi. And the taxi driver tricked her into letting him collect the fare through an exchange of services. Well, anyway, he's "collecting the fare" from behind her and he reaches forward and sticks both hands in her mouth from behind and stretches her mouth open. That's what the BMW grille reminds me of.

If the car does not photograph well, it's not good-looking, sir.

I am not accusing you of it because you know your cars and have good taste in everything you work on. But, in almost every other case, those who don't mind this iteration of the Mer, it has to be the effect of the brand/badge. That grille design on any other non-premium brand will be met with immediate universal ridicule.

I'd buy one too and immediately slap on a 90s car bra that covers the entire front except the headlights.

How is anyone ever objective about a subjective perception such as whether something looks "good" or not? I don't think that's a thing.

And, yeah, I've seen an M4 (same front end) up close and personal that a friend of mine bought new. My statement to him was - "Well, at least it's fast."

LOL...
it's not like I don't understand what you guys are saying and yes of course the grill is big as fuck...but when I looked at the car in person my first thought wasn't EW
I think the fact that it's black helps...on a black colored car I would imagine it looks even better as it'll blend.

Leave it to an attorney to question my use of subjective vs objective when I was really just using conductive reasoning.

and to you Yum...quite a compliment from you!

FWIW, it's psychological perhaps...you KNOW how fast this car is and what is inside the hood and heck, even inside the doors. And FFS, it's an M. So, yeah...it's appeal goes up 10 notches. I dunno...just speculating really. You like what you like and honestly, won't hate you for it. Just no more camping trips.

What if this thing was a 120HP car made by Honda? WYHI...?

Honestly, you got me wrong...
I don't give a shit about BMW nor the M3...I know what they are capable of but that doesn't really do much for me anymore.
I just don't hate it. I can't really justify why. I'm not even really contrarian normally so I'm not saying that to go against the grain or get
a rise out of anyone.

It just doesn't look horrendous to me so I still brought the double sleeping bag, no GIT in here.

the blue interior on the nardo greyish blue was not a visually pleasing to me...more like just "cool" looking interior but I would have preferred a different combo.

Lose the yellow on that interior & it'd be great.
Love the exterior color, wheels look good, just still can't do the nose.

Don’t Love the new grill but have grown not to hate it. A good friend picked up an M3, 6MT, and Wow! It is a Blast to drive!

This was day of purchase. Tint has been applied since…..Couldn’t push it over 5K until 1200 miles/first oil change.

They've grown on me quite a bit. Not the M4 so much, but the grill kind of works on the M3.

Sure. It kinda works like how ugly works. You learn to accept it and eventually, even love it. If it is yours.

Otherwise, if not yours, you stare and gawk and the sheer ugliness of it. I know I would. And because I'm , you betcho @$$ I would stare and point.
