Favorite TG UK Presenter?

I know we have a dedicated TG UK thread but this thought wandered into my head a few days ago and I was wondering who your favorite Top Gear presenter was.

Personally, I think they're all great in their own way but my favorite has to be James. He seems to be the most level-headed and down-to-earth of the trio.

Jeremy, for his pithy anecdotes and stereotypes.

May.

Clarkson is a funny guy, but his shtick would get old pretty quickly. Ive heard that Hammond can sometimes be a prick.

May seems like the type that you could talk to about anything and he would keep you entertained.

James May by far. Without him I probably wouldn't watch the program. I'm indifferent towards Hammond and Clarkson I find a narcissistic bore, but May has an interesting perspective towards things. He's a thinker. And he loves vehicles and mechanical things of all types. He's obviously very good at understanding them as well. Clarkson and Hammond both appear to be unable to understand the difference between an intake and wiper motor.

Any one of them on their own would get real annoying. They only work as a group and, as a group, they are phenomenal.

That said, I enjoy Clarkson the most.

May is a close second, since he's quite underrated. Have any of you seen the clip where he has a cooking contest with Gordon Ramsay and wins?

I haven't seen that.

But has anyone seen his show about wine? He managed to make wine tasting entertaining.

I disagree, both Clarkson and Hammond have shown that they're both pretty smart when it comes to cars at times. I think they just have to play up the comedy side a bit more and leave the intellectual stuff to May. You can also see Hammond wears a silver band on his pinky, he might be an engineer.

That said, May is my favorite, not necessarily for what he does on Top Gear, but for what he does outside. His books and TV shows are a great source of learning. But on Top Gear, my favorite would be Clarkson.

I chose none. This is like choosing who your favorite child is--you just can't. Their personalities are just such a good blend.....Jeremy, the cock...Hammond, the Hamster....and May, the thinker/geek/sedate driver.

What chemistry these guys have on camera!

I watched all of the episodes of James May's Road Trip and I thought it was hilarious how he would call out all the pretentious wine-o's.

I did pick Clarkson, as I stated above, but it really is the chemistry between all three of them that makes TGUK great.

The first season was great, but I really enjoyed the second because May and Oz were in CA visiting Napa, Paso Robles, Monterey, etc; seeing two half drunken Limeys in the States is always funny.

you forgot the 4th presenter the Stig... I honestly can't choose. it's the chemistry all three (four) have together that makes them all great. if you put one by itself, it doesn't seem right.

Yea, but it seems the Stig can be replaced, while the other three are irreplaceable.

Has to be James. He takes being the butt of the jokes in stride, & when he wants to, he gives you some of the most straight-forward reviews.

And off Top Gear, he's incredibly enthusiastic about his favorite things. I've watched his 2-part shows about his journey into space & they were very good, imo. Even when he's giving important information, you can hear the secret joy in his voice by getting to do what he does.
