His name is almost as popular as Bill Gates’ and his bank account is also juggling billions of dollars (not as many though), so naturally everyone wants to know what type of car Mark Zuckerberg drives. While we were expecting something closer to a Ferrari, a Porsche, or a Veyron, it appears the Facebook CEO went for an Infiniti.
Moreover, the youngest billionaire in the world has recently been spotted being toted around in his girlfriend’s Acura TSX, which is a car that competes against vehicles like the Lexus IS, Audi A4 and BMW 3-Series. The car is an entry-level luxury vehicle worth about $30,000.

I like the single german car fanboy comment.
"Please. BMW and Audi aren't in the same competition level as a lexus or an infiniti. The price range is different, and pretty sure people who own lexus and infiniti would want to have bmw or audi instead. BMW and Audi is comparable to Benz. That's about it."

It's not like he's got a billion dollars in the bank. His portion of the company is worth a billion dollars based on recent valuations. Until they sell that company (or his portion), he's got nothing but equity.
I would bet when FB goes public he'll be sporting something a bit nicer.

I saw an interview with him and they did a tour of his rental house. The whole time I'm thinking about what an idiot he is for renting, geez splurge a little and buy a nice little house. This way he is not throwing his money away (regardless how much he has) and has an investment thats his own. Just really makes no sense to rent when you have that kind of money.

Doesn't care about material things...at least in terms of cars.
Not the first bazillionaire to be like that about cars...
Mind you, if I were him, I'd have an Aston Martin and Pagani Zonda for every day of the month.

Apparently you didn't read my post, so allow me to briefly reiterate.
Sure he can spend his money anyway that he wishes, duh. It just seems that someone in that tax bracket would rather invest his money into something that can build an equity and could eventually pay him back, as opposed to just throwing money away by paying rent for something he can afford with no problems. Plus, I'm sure he doesn't see it as wasting his money or not because he has so much of it, I just see it as a bad decision because if I had a quarter of what he has in the bank I would be investing and buying Real Estate and definitely not renting. But like you said, its his money and he can do whatever he wants with it.
On that note, does anyone know if he bought his TSX or did he lease it?
Edit: At least CLpower and Phile see it my way.

Hows it his girlfriend's TSX. There are news articles of him being interviewed, and he said he drives the Acura TSX. There is nothing on him driving an Infiniti. I don't know where the Infiniti came from... Just because his girlfriend has the car, and getting gas for it doesn't mean she is the owner of the car.
Here is my source of information:
http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/articl...erg-2010-9.DTL
It was posted during the 13th of September (2010), which is pretty recent. The information on the Infiniti just seems less realistic, no? I mean, Mark is a billionaire, and he bought a TSX to drive. Meaning I doubt hes going to buy a new car in about a month or less after this interview. (Today is the 15th of October, and from the article posted date is about a month). Its highly unlikely that Mark gave the Girlfriend the TSX and got an Infiniti all in a month when its coming from a guy that seems like he saves even for billionaire.
Bottom Line: I'm willing to bet that Mark and his girlfriend are sharing the Acura TSX. Highly unlikely Mark bought an Infiniti in that short time frame, and the thread starter's information link doesn't even say what kind of an Infiniti. I mean, if there is proof that he has an Infiniti, I think a model would be also known.

Maybe he's carless and just borrows his girl's car every now and then?
For some reason, I do kind of respect him for not having a giant mansion with 10 exotics in the garage. Makes him seem more realistic and down-to-earth.
But if the price of seeming down-to-earth is not having a 458 and a GT3RS for each of my 4 island beach houses, then off to space I go.

Quite honestly I can't say I blame the guy. If I had shitloads of money I wouldn't be rolling around in Ferarri 458s and Lamborghini Murcielagos all day long. I'd keep a few subtle cars for those days I just feel like flying under the radar. Sometimes you don't want to draw attention to yourself; you just want to go to the store, get your gallon of milk, go home and count your stacks of money.

Just remember, keep both hands on the wheel, bring a passenger if need be.

All that money and he can't even buy a hotter girlfriend? Although his posture in those pictures gives me the notion that he is a bit more feminine than most men.
As for the car, I can understand how some people aren't that interested in having a lavish automobile, however I cannot say that if I had the money I wouldn't be in a nice sports car. Different strokes.

I think your comment demonstrates how we as a society expect those in a strong financial position to carry themselves. How we expect them to demonstrate their wealth to us. It's perverse that we determine a girlfriend is merely something to "buy", meant to impress others and nothing else.
Everything is subjective. Everyone is trying to determine what car and home (and now what girlfriend) would be suitable for him. Why? Maybe he's more interested and committed to running his business than worrying about some exotic car. Maybe he'd rather do without the distractions of home ownership at this point in his life as well.
Whatever he decides to drive, where he decides to live, and who he decides to date is up to him. I don't really know much about the guy, but if this is the way he decides to carry himself regardless of his wealth, then his actions speak volumes of his confidence. More so than any material item ever could.
