saw this in a motor trend in may, the article says that they had to actually 'detune' the engine to keep it safe...how does one not snap axles with 700lbs of torque???

Yeah, I don't like some of the body modifications and the rims for this one. I'd much rather have the SL600. Looks much cleaner, and is faster than a 911 GT2.

I'd rather have the Brabus SL600 that was posted awhile back. 700+hp turbo with 12-piston brakes on all four corners. After seeing the pics, I went to the Brabus shop (down the street), and nearly nutted myself seeing it.

From Diamond Bar, hit 405S, exit MacArthur, Right Campus Drive, it's on the left hand side after the turn, you can't miss it. I drove by today they had a Black turbocharged Chrysler Crossfire with brakes bigger than most of our wheels.

meh, not really impressed. I'm not sure that engine is enough for the 4000+ pounds it has to haul

Must be custom. The new one is only supercharged.

Car and Driver rated the 0-60 of the SL600 at 3.6. I would wager it goes a little fast than 4.0

Only thing wrong with the SLR is the "gills" on the side, which is fixed by getting a dark color.

I remember reading an article about the brabus tuned one. The editor was like "something must be wrong with the electronics, because for some reason the tach and speedo jump up at the same speed"

I only see one problem with that car, how the hell do the tires hook up?!? 700+ ft-lbs of torque at 2000 Rpms is insane. You could probably roast a set of tires in no time. I bet if you laid into the throtle you could spin through third.

It's a beautiful machine, it just doesn't strike me like a Ferrari.
