I was too lazy to go up into their house to get the key to move the car, so I parked it on the street, with my usual worried mind reminding myself how much I hate parking on the street. There's a reason why my car doesn't have a blemish on the bumpers (NY is notorious for bumper damage from parking). Anywho, I reluctantly parked on the street and went into my apt.

I wake up the next morning, and this is what I see:

The thieves smashed the driver's window too. I don't recall if he was smart enough to put wheel locks on his 19" Sport equipped G37. If he didn't have wheel locks, they may have broken the window to search for the locks. Who knows, and who cares

Why don't I care? Because it's the same pothead neighbor of mine that keeps me from opening my porch door to get some fresh air because he's always smoking cigarettes or pot on the porch and even with my door closed, it still emanates into my apt and stinks up my place too (Link to thread HERE ).

I asked where they could possibly have gotten those bricks from, and then notice a few bricks missing from the other neighbor's garden. I tell ya these thieves got some balls...

This is the part of living in Brooklyn that I hate. Granted I have wheel locks, and they are hidden in my car somewhere, and I don't have anything in my car exposed, but I did have my V1 stuck on the window, but thankfully it was not noticed.

Oh well..
Karma is a beeyotch.

I don't understand why if there's a group terrorizing an entire neighborhood, they wouldn't even finger print the windshield just to see if something in the system comes up

The officer at the desk pretty much said that it isn't a serious enough crime for them to pursue, that's why they don't do it. And to think, they always report on the news how crime is way down in NY...It's not down, it's just as high as ever, only because they won't do a damn thing about petty crimes, it doesn't even pay to report it because they brush it off and ignore it, and the reason why crime is down

Sorry to hear, those G wheels in high demand in your area?

I live on the outskirts of a downtown city as well, it's not TOO bad but none the less I can imagine your frustration. Best of luck.

Holy shit I'm so sorry Eddie. I've seen a maxima on my old block who got his wheels stolen a couple months ago. And I have a friend who lives near Nostrand who says his neighbor's car gets his wheels taken regularly. The fucking thieves are getting braver though. Going into your drive way to get to your car?? That's nuts. I would keep complaining to the police department to get those prints. I mean it's not like it was an isolated incident. 3 cars in the same area? I'd be flipping my shit and filing complaints left and right. I really don't get how they even got into your car. UGH. Ocean parkway is probably an easy target area since the road right there leads to the highway and the street adjacent to it is pretty easy to hide from people. I can imagine those side streets being super dark at night. I know when I'm driving down there at night I never look over to the side streets

It's too late at this point, my car's been outside all day yesterday, with all the rain we had, the prints are probably gone. Aside from that, I have a customer of mine that's a cop and happened to call me yesterday about a car for a buddy of his, he works out of the precinct in Coney Island (63rd Pct? I forget), and told him what happened, and he said the same thing, that they won't dust for prints, said something like it's too expensive to do

the 061 is the precinct where my home is zoned in, that's where I originally went and they told me " so sorry, buhbye". My customer is at the precinct by Coney Island Beach, and not the one on West 8th by the DMV...there's another one closer to Seagate, around Steeple Chase Park, that's where he is.

I'm over it...I'm just paranoid now because of the amount of new and used cars I have at my house at any given time, I don't want to this to turn into a shopping spree for this f&cker!

have you thought about installing some motion sensor lights? or a security system that records/takes pics when the light comes on? it sucks that you have to spend money on this kind of system but if it'll help you catch the fucker or prevent him from going to town on your cars might be worth it.

I'll probably put both, light/motion sensors as well as cameras. We'll see. Only thing is, I am looking to move, living so close to family has it's perks, but not all the time. If I start doing stuff like this, it will make me more comfortable and not as focused on the want to move. Bah, we'll see!

I think they stole my focking iPod too...The worst part of Mini's location of the iPod adapter is it being on the lower dash. I had a cable that went down into the mesh net on the passenger's side of the transmission tunnel, with the window tint you couldn't see the cable or iPod, and even when sitting in the car, I wrapped the iPod in a black cloth, so even when looking directly at the mesh net, you still wouldn't be able to see it. I didn't check for it at the time, I'll have to check if it's there when I get my car from my office tomorrow. I'd be surprised if it was still there. I think the fockers even took the adapter cable that came with the car..

Scratch that, they didn't take the iPod. Probably didn't notice it, it's that conspicuous..
